Hi all
I had a perfectly operating EL CAP system, with a responsive FCPX editing system, running on GTX970, 16GB ram, 4 GHz Intel Core i7
I had to upgrade to High Sierra for a few reason, and ever since, computer has slowed to a crawl.

My SMBIOS is 14,2, iMac.
Should I have chosen MacPro when I installed? Should I try rolling back to a different nvidia driver?

I would really like to boost its speed back to pre-High Sierra levels.

Is there any info or advice on this? Thank you in advance.

make sure you are using the correct web drivers for your version of high sierra

You have to install the web driver that matches your OS build number.
This is further complicated as the default High Sierra appears to be build 17G66 which has no matching web driver.

Thanks Feartech. I downloaded and installed the ones from the download page on here.
How do I know if it's the one I need?

Thank you for responding. how do I determine the correct version?

Install 387.10.10.10.40.139.
Your build number is 17G14033.

That was the driver I had installed already.

I have no idea what is the cause of the glacial pace of my system since the upgrade to HS.

Are you using any other Graphics related 'Fixes' in your config.plist or any additional kexts?

If yes, try removing them and see if that helps. You shouldn't need any additional fixes and only Lilu.kext, WhateverGreen.kext and the Nvidia Web Drivers for your card to work at full speed.
