Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

** OpenCore 0.8.0 Upgrade Instructions **

To upgrade OpenCore using HackinDROM, we must first make two changes to existing OpenCore 0.7.9 configuration as follows:

Step 1: Mount EFI partition and rename the two files shown below, located in the EFI/OC/ACPI folder:
  • Rename SSDT-EC-USBX.aml to SSDT-EC-USBX-Z690.aml
  • Rename SSDT-PLUG-ALT.aml to SSDT-PLUG-ALT-Z690.aml

Step 2: Make the same two changes to ACPI section of config.plist as shown, then save the file:
  • Rename SSDT-EC-USBX.aml to SSDT-EC-USBX-Z690.aml
  • Rename SSDT-PLUG-ALT.aml to SSDT-PLUG-ALT-Z690.aml

Now we can upgrade to OpenCore 0.8.0 by following the HackinDROM instructions located here:
However, do not use OpenCore Configurator 2.59.0.0 because it is not compatible with the release version of OpenCore 0.8.0 (version 2.60.0.1 is okay to use). After performing the upgrade with HackinDROM, no further changes or edits are needed.

Always keep a backup copy of previous OpenCore EFI folder in the EFI partition of a USB flash disk (for emergency boot).

This worked for me. Thanks for figuring out the snag!
@Inqnuam
After the upgrade, I got the "OCS: No schema for SerialInit at 6 index" error on boot. I know how to fix it, just an FYI.

@CaseySJ
Are you using the new Force Aquantia quirk? Just curious if there are advantages to it, or if the patch method you have had in the config is still preferred?

This post in the following thread might be of use:

I haven’t updated yet but will do so this weekend.

Please check this post, looks like OpenCore Configurator is the cause of SerialInit issue
After doing more investigating, I have come to the conclusion that it is OCC 2.60.0.0, not HackinDROM, that is inserting "SerialInit". I confirmed this after I deleted "SerialInit" as recommended by @Feartech and it returned when I updated an unrelated setting using OCC 2.60.0.0. I assume that this will be removed in the next update.

I just came to that realization 5 mins ago and was about to edit my post.:)
Thanks!
I know Casey likes Opencore Configurator.

But I just use PlistEdit Pro + OCConfigCompare whenever I update because Opencore Configurator sometimes takes a while to get updated to properly support the next version of opencore, and in the meantime introduces bugs in the config.plist.

I just noticed that I am stuck at 12.1 and my update does not see the latest 12.3.1. I continue receiving "mac is up to date" message.

Does anybody know how can I enabe the latest update?

Thanks!!

Thanks, PILGRIM!

Am I right to assume that the update from 12.1. to 12.3.1 won't be a problem and can happen as usual via regular update procedure?
