@trs96 thank you for this excellent guide. It has been quite addictive.

So a quick question to this group, regarding installing the Fenvi FV-HB1200 into the 9020 SFF. I've seen a few posts here discussing the internal USB header needed for this card, or the lack of it in the SFF. Is there an elegant way to do this without resorting to routing the cable to an external USB port? (It looks like it's just pulling the 5V from the header, so is there another way to get the power to the card?) In my Z270 build, I have the T919 installed and mapped as an internal port for power management (my bluetooth mouse can wake up the system). I assume if I end up using an external port, that this should get remapped as an internal to enable sleep/hibernate?

Would be great to hear any success stories.

OK all done. Wasn't as clean as I wanted but is working well.

I purchased the 9-pin USB header to USB cable (from Amazon) which was then routed out of the case via the spare PCIe slot.

As for the sleep/wake via Bluetooth, all working well without any changes to the USB configuration.

That cable is fairly thick so there's not much else available for routing options in the SFF. Good to hear it works. What version of macOS are you running ? Some people report problems with BT function in Monterey 12.1 so be aware of that if you rely on BT for mouse, keyboard etc.

Yes. Agreed. I’m currently running Big Sur and have no appetite to upgrade for a while so all good.

@trs96 as this was so successful, I was wondering about doing another build but with a i7 4790K and a NVMe boot drive. reading the earlier posts, would using a mini USB stick as the boot EFI be sufficient? That way, I can keep the usb always plugged in and won’t have to install a SATA drive. Also with the 4790K, have you had any thermal issues in the SFF case?

Yes, that is something that can work. Use the OC 0.7.1 EFI folder attached at the end of post #2 of the Big Sur guide. It includes OpenCanopy.efi and NvmExpressDxe.efi driver for an NVMe OS drive

Put the NVMe adapter in the blue X16 slot for the fastest speeds. An apapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084GDY2PW/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 wouldn't block the path of the USB BT data cable if you use another Fenvi card for Wifi. Keep the USB with EFI folder on it in a back panel USB 2.0 port.

I've only used a 4790 non-K CPU in the MT not in the SFF. That being said, you can't over-clock that CPU so it should be able to stay cool enough. Depends on what you're doing with it. You can also use the Macs Fan Control app to ramp up the fan speeds but they can get quite noisy when doing that.

@trs96 any thoughts on the WX3200 as an alternative to the WX4100? Getting hold of tye WX4100 is pretty tough. The WX3200 is on sale at the moment on DELL online store for less than the WX4100 used.

I see mixed experiences in the forum.
