Does anyone else use OCAT to handle / help with OC upgrades and general troubleshooting? It's a very good tool that (from what I read) has Acidanthera's approval, and it will find common errors in the OC config.plist details, validate what's there, remove tabs for spaces, upgrade OC in the tool itself [and upgrade the config.plist as appropriate], handle KEXT additions to the config.plist, and on and on, some in conjunction with the OC-Validate tool in OC.

Great tool... anyone else using it? It takes a lot of the guesswork and mystery out of going from one OpenCore version to another, and finds common gotchas or errors people might have in existing config.plist files too.

I just came across OCAT while doing a Google search. I'll give it a try this weekend.

Advise at the moment to test on USB/EFI updates.i did have problems at early test but with resent updates
a lot better.

I think it's the bomb - it makes updating OC versions far simpler and easier, and one can even do nightlies updates too.

I certainly agree to test it on a usb stick. But I can say that it helped me a lot going from OC 7.2 to OC 7.5.
2 of my machines refused to take my guesswork but worked great after using this little app. Since it was a time ago I do not exactly remember what the problem was, sorry for that. I just saw this app was upgraded to suit OC 7.6.

It is a fantastic tool, it generates base EFI already configured, makes version upgrades very easy and monitors errors.
It's great...

I have tried it yesterday. I wanted to upgrade from 0.7.4 to 0.7.6 and it created a working configuration with the latest kext files. Easy to use. I hope that updates are on time too.

I just found this tool today and used it to solve problems I was having going from 07.2 to 07.7. I used it on a alternate disk first before my primary. Now I am going to use it on the primary drive. Still keeping a backup USB bootdisk just in case.

I wish I had it when I went form 06.x to 07.2.

I use OCAT (OCAuxiliaryTools) from version of OpenCore 0.7.2. This is the best solution for correcting errors in the config.plist and update OpenCore and kexts. Intuitively simple and useful. I recommend everyone for use OCAT.

OC was a pain in the ass for me, following every readme still never got to me to a bootable version. I was manually creating my own hardware maps, then auto creating, still died after every oc update. Spent weeks reading and learning. Finally found OCAT. I never spend more than 2 minutes with an OC update anymore. If you can wait 1-2 months to try the newest OC, I would just recommend.
