It is odd, it looks like it is 4K on the OC boot screen then about 10-15% of the way along the loading bar it switches up the resolution to 1080p....

so interestingly; RDM has allowed me to get to 4k... How bazar...

Now to go find my dock and see what works/doesn't

There is a new fork of VoltageShift that is compatible with both SIP and Monterey. However, it requires you to self-compile the kext and program. For me, my launch daemon from ages ago was still running, but not working, as VoltageShift needed to be re-compiled, signed, and injected with OpenCore. I can verify that it is working as well as it ever has, with idle temps on my i7-7700HQ sitting under 40C in a 22C room - much better than the 50+ I was getting just this morning.

You can read about the process here: https://github.com/zspherez/VoltageShift/tree/master

Yeah, but I would do the voltage stuff with BIOS Variables so that its also applying to windows/linux.

Have you had success with this? I've applied the BIOS variables many times (and they persist!) but clearly do not apply in each OS, or they get cleared out after reboots, cold boots, etc. This thread outlines some issues others experienced, and I suspect I am experiencing the same. VoltageShift has been the only way I've been able to keep a consistent undervolt in macOS.

A little bit. I was just testing this after updating to the latest BIOS 1.24.0.

See here for all Variables I found. (Merged this and this and some of my own findings)

I first tried disabling the Overclocking Lock. Which does work, but doesn't stay after a reboot.
So voltageshift doesn't really work for me, because overclocking is disabled after every boot.

But if you enable Overclocking Feature you can change all the voltage offsets through the bios. Which then also apply in Mac OS for me:

As you can see. Overclocking is locked. But there is still an offset (which is set through the BIOS).
I set the cpu and gpu voltage both to 0x64 which should be 100. But is displayed in voltage shift as 102? (weird)

I can't get Overclocking Lock to stay permanently disabled. Would be nice if someone has an idea how to fix this :)

Sounds like you're having similar troubles to me with the EFI variables. I warm rebooted into Windows yesterday to handle a few items and found that I did have my EFI undervolts present. However, macOS doesn't appear to take them as well or as consistently - hence, VoltageShift. Very good to see we might have multiple options here. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this guide I have almost everything working to the point where I'm happy with it. I just had one issue with the wifi. I ordered the DW1560 off ebay. I'm just about 100% sure it is installed correctly, I can see its MAC address in system preferences, it just it wont show any wifi networks. I'm thinking this card is cooked. I just wanted to see if there were any other opinions or is there anything I might have overlooked. Again thank you very much!

I also bought one from eBay (China) which was dead. (Bluetooth worked. WLAN didn’t)

I would check if you have all the correct kexts. Clean NVRAM, rebuild kextcache. Check if you correctly plugged in the antenna cables :)

In the end I got mine directly from dell. Just wrote to sales department that I needed a DW1560, and got it for like 15€. (Less expensive than on eBay)
