Hi are you able to install macOS_12.0-21A5284e (2nd public ß2) from full installer or just by upgrading ß1?
I failed with ß2 :(
Both full and Upgrade. If you Dual Boot with Windows, you need to disable TPM in the BIOS and in the config.plist SecureBootMode should be set as Disabled and not Default. Once the Upgrade or Install is successful, these two settings can be changed back to the original state. Good luck.

The only way for me to get these betas to install, on a real MBA, is to run "sudo softwareupdate -i -a -R" in Terminal.
Maybe that helps on a hack as well?

That said, if you plan to install the beta on a genuine Mac.. don't, just don't.

I have it installed on a genuine Mac it works just fine without running any commands outside of clicking the update button.

Might be an issue with M1 Macs, I got crashes when trying to open pics in Messages for one, and when trying to update to beta2 I got a popup telling me I had to be an "Owner" to update.. and the only way around that one was to do it via Terminal.

But what made me say don't, was that I found it almost impossible to downgrade to Big Sur again. Booting to Recovery and restoring from Timemachine didn't work, it wouldn't let me.

Reinstall? nope, all I could choose was the beta.

So I made a bootable USB-stick with Big Sur on it, chose to boot from that and all I got was "This version of MacOS is too old..."

I think they've changed something in Recovery on the M1s?

The only thing I haven't tried by now is installing BS on a separate disk (on another machine) and try booting from that, erase the internal SSD and reinstall BS that way.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, wouldn't be surprised :O, but I never had so much trouble on a hack :)

I think I'll just let it run Monterey, it's just too much hassle trying to downgrade :D

Please note that an M1 does only boot from TB3 ssd‘s.

Press and hold the power button on a M1 until you get a screen to choose Options and then you should be able to reload Big Sur.

Welcome to M1 !
Apple seal now everything. All the processes with Intel are down.
Check FAQ @Apple to see how it works.
Worse and worse everyday :(

Yes, that's what I thought would happen but the only option I got there was to reload the beta. I then made a BS USB-stick and chose that in boot options instead of recovery and got told that version of MacOS was to old, I also tried that from recovery as it showed up there too but got the same.. too old.

I'll just roll with it until Monterey final at this point :)

Ah, didn't know that, at this point I've given up though but thanks :)
