Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

I updated to OC 0.7.0 as posted in #924 and everything rebooted smoothly - has anyone tested Big Sur 11.4 update with this?
THANKS in advance.
11.4 is so yesterday! I've tested 0.7.0 with 11.5. :)

Sweet! That might help the random kernel panic reboots I've been having. Almost always when I'm not at the computer - I just hear the loud reboot from downstairs!

Hi! Always with the same patch kernel? :D
Can I ask why are you using "nvda_drv 31" in NVRAM? I know that nvda drv 31 is for who need to install nvidia web driver that is compatible only from high sierra and below no? and just for curiosity, why we're using AppleMCE also on big sur?

  • The same AMD_OSX kernel patches we use for 11.3 also apply to 11.4 and 11.5.
  • We don't actually use nvda_drv 31. It may, however, be coming from LegacySchema.
    • Feel free to remove that section.

Copy the entire EFI folder that you've just worked on to the EFI partition of the USB flash disk. This is essential and makes the USB flash disk bootable.
There's an ambiguity here, I think. Does this mean that the EFI partition will have a folder inside of it also named EFI, and inside of THAT folder is BOOT and OC? Or does this mean that you have a partition named EFI and directly inside of that partition are BOOT and OC?

To ask the question in a different way, when one of the EFI partitions is mounted, would the path to, for example, config.plist be

Option 1: /Volumes/EFI/EFI/OC/config.plist
or
Option 2: /Volumes/EFI/OC/config.plist

Option 1 is correct.
  • There is an EFI partition.
  • There is an EFI folder inside the EFI partition.
  • BOOT and OC are located inside the EFI folder.

Did you try this patches also on the new osx beta? XD just to know.
however, regarding the nvda_drv I saw it on your b550 NVRAM Section "7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82", not in the legacy system. And for the AppleMCEReporterDisabler kext I asked just because I already saw on dortania and see they talk only about Catalina and they never mentions Big Sur so I was not sure if we need it also on Big Sur.. :) thanks for the answer by the way, like always your work is amazing and I really really appreciate your altruism!

It’s vestigial and may be removed.

Please see the Dortania guide again. You will see:
  • Requires macOS 10.15 or newer
