Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I'm just wondering what "SmallTree-Intel-211-82576.kext" do, it doesn't looks like it's included in config, does it gets linked by another kexts?
That kext is for Intel i211 Ethernet port, which these boards do not have. The kext is a vestige or carryover from a previous EFI, which is not used and may be removed.

I've been partially followed your advises. (I didn't format the new SATA SSD for Windows under Mac but during the Win installing phase, and then I followed all the other advises.) Now I had the Windows correctly visible on OC boot loader for a week or so. However, now it's disappeared. I can see the Windows disk under Big Sur. (It's unnamed at the moment.) But OC cannot see it anymore. Is there a way to tell OC to load the Win's EFI without re-formatting and re-installing Windows? TIA!
Couple of questions:
  • Did the problem occur after the recent Windows feature release was installed?
  • Did the problem occur after OpenCore 0.7.0?
  • Does the Windows SSD have its own EFI partition?

Couple of questions:
  • Did the problem occur after the recent Windows feature release was installed?
Yes, it's the latest Win10 available on the MS site. Not an update though, it's a fresh install.
  • Did the problem occur after OpenCore 0.7.0?
No, still on OC 0.6.9 here
  • Does the Windows SSD have its own EFI partition?
Yes, formatted with MS Windows USB (created with its own tool and ISO downloaded from MS site).

@CaseySJ : Thanks a lot ! First Hackintosh (and first computer mounted). I flashed the Thunderbolt chip directly on the motherboard; everything works very well on Big Sur and my Apple Thunderbolt Display works on the Intel Graphics! (I just can't boot on it. But, if I launch with an HDMI monitor, I can plug the ATD, then disconnect hdmi monitor, and it's OK. I can even reboot on the ATD [the BIOS is showing]. But, if I shutdown and boot, = black screen – it's curious.) Anyway : Thanks, thanks, thanks !

To confirm this, please boot into macOS and mount the EFI partition of the Windows SSD. Then expand the folders in that partition and post a screenshot.

And to check if the OpenCore EFI has been contaminated, mount the EFI partition of the macOS SSD. Then expand the folders in only the "EFI" folder and post a screenshot.

(Screenshots are captured by pressing CMD-Shift-5, which will save them to desktop.)

Hello @hamsben,

Welcome to the forum! As you might know, those who successfully flash their on-board Titan Ridge controller get inducted automatically into the Society of Mad Scientists. So we extend a welcome from there as well. :)

The ATD experience you described is typical.

That's out of me. But I was suspecting that the ALC is somehow behaving wrong.
I'm sure you might have researched, but did you find any clue or related issues with the same device?

Yesterday tried again but not luck (

1 .Using ioreg I've found that my device has layoutid=7 assigned.

2. Using gfxutil I've found its PCI ID

3. I added this to the Audio section:

Code:
<key>Audio</key>
        <dict>
            <key>AudioCodec</key>
            <integer>0</integer>
            <key>AudioDevice</key>
            <string>path/to/my/card/pci/id</string>
            <key>AudioOut</key>
            <integer>3</integer>
            <key>AudioSupport</key>
            <true/>
            <key>MinimumVolume</key>
            <integer>20</integer>
            <key>PlayChime</key>
            <string>Auto</string>
            <key>ResetTrafficClass</key>
            <false/>
            <key>SetupDelay</key>
            <integer>0</integer>
            <key>VolumeAmplifier</key>
            <integer>143</integer>
        </dict>

4. I fixed the layout id using device / add overrides. Also I tried to add arc-delay because my device's driver doesn't support loading from OC, it's installed on L/E. So maybe ALC just initialises before the driver

Code:
<key>path/to/my/card/pci/id</key>
            <dict>
                <key>layout-id</key>
                <data>BwAAAA==</data>
                <key>alc-delay</key>
                <integer>2999</integer>
            </dict>

Nothing helped ( So i'm still waiting of the driver update or the OC update to support the driver

Also I have 3 more thoughts:

a) as driver is installed onto L/E maybe the AppleALC should be installed onto L/E too ? I've put 3sec alc-delay, this is maximal value possible, maybe it just not enough to await the driver initialisation

b) OC guide recommends to try other layout-id. But I couldn't find my codec (97, AC97, STAC97, ALC97, 9750, 9751 - nothing from those options possible) in the supported codecs list. There's anything about AC97. So maybe my AC97 version just not fully supported by the AppleALC?

Detailed codec info (got it via Linux):

Code:
0-0/0: SigmaTel STAC9750,51

PCM front DAC    : 48000Hz
PCM ADC          : 48000Hz
SPDIF Control    : Consumer PCM Copyright Category=0x0 Generation=0 Rate=48kHz

c) maybe I don't need AppleALC at all and the issue is just because it violates some resources with the driver) ? or I need some other kext (like ApplaHDA or VoodooHDA) ?

Hi @CaseySJ

I used RX 6800 + GC titan ridge rev1.0(unflashed firmware,nvm50) + Ultrafine5K(2019) +BigSur 11.4+model(20,1)

After reading the progress bar, the screen will be black for a period of time, After entering the system, check the system report, and the display card 6800 will appear after a few seconds, and the sound, camera and brightness adjustment not worked

What should be modified in EFI file,I would appriciate for your help, thanks for your great work!
Hello @chenxiwei1u,

The 2019 UltraFine 5K, I believe, is the latest model that contains Titan Ridge on board and supports USB-C Alt Mode. This particular model may be more difficult to use with a Hackintosh. It may be a good idea to flash the GC-Titan Ridge firmware, but there are no guarantees that on-board devices will work. We just have to try different things.

I would also recommend searching this thread for “UltraFine” or looking at the Quick Reference spoiler in Post 1 for links to some UltraFine posts in this thread.

If anyone has a 2019 UltraFine 5K with a GC-Titan Ridge, please chime in…

Hello @Krapomatic,

Nice name! Here are a couple of choices:
In some cases it may be necessary to enable the Aquantia kernel patch, but first try without the patch enabled.

Hello again !

The Sonnet PCI has been installed but it's not working.
As you mentionned Casey, I'll enable the Aquantia kernel patch.
Thanks again !
