Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

...
I wanted you to know that I've been testing and not been able to run my Ryzen system after making the update to 11.3 on the B550.
Was the update to 11.3 done while using the RX 6800?

So I tried to swap out the card and boot with a GT710 card I had on hand, and that didn't work either.
So neither the RX 6800 nor the GT 710 allows the 11.3 system to boot?

...
So it looks like I may try to create a USB installer instead from Catalina to run the 11.4 beta.
If you create an 11.4 Beta install disk then a 6800 should be okay to use.

Yes I did. It was working up until that point and after a reboot it just didn’t work.

Apparently so. I was quite surprised especially with the GT710 (Asus), given it has the GK208 compatible chip.

Yes I guess so.

Oh! I forgot to mention. In addition to the above, I also came across an issue on my motherboard whereby, when I go to Advanced > Onboard Device Configuration > PCIEX16_1,2,3 selection - after I made a change, the whole line just disappeared on the next reboot. I had changed it to PCIe2 during testing of the GT710. After I replaced it back with the 6800XT, it never returned. I'm wondering if it is an issue with the BIOS.

Hi @CaseySJ ! I'm a huge fan of your works! I've been following you for years now but I never find a github page, do you have one? I was looking for your work on X570 ASRock motherboards, but I never find a thread or something like that. Really appreciate your work on this B550. I'm trying to find one on amazon Europe but still nothing. ;( Right now I'm on ASRock X570M Pro4 with AMD 5600 XT. If you want to see my EFI, I've attached it here. I'm still not really good with SSDT and comprehension of IOReg. But, if you want to take a look, I will really appreciate it.

Right now it works everything except for SSD Freeze/loading. I think it's a write speed problem. I already tried to enable TRIM, but nothing. I think it's a cable problem. I will buy a NVMe WD Black as soon as possible.

For the GPU I'm using dual GPU (Nvidia 2060 in PCI Slot 1 that I disabled and GT740 on the other one with GOP Update BIOS mod to allow me to disable CSM and use Above4GDecoding.

Thanks again for your work and your help. You make this world better :)

Hello @Vorshim92,

Thank you for the kind words! Regarding the NVMe SSD, we are aware of a problem with the latest NVMeFix.kext 1.0.7 that affects WD NVMe SSDs. It may affect some other brands as well so we recommend using the previous version (1.0.6) of this kext. Please try that first and we'll troubleshoot further if the problem still exists.

Hi there! Thanks for the quick response. :D
I still not buy the NVMe WD Black for this build, but I will as soon as possible. I will use the previous version. Thanks for the tip. Do you still have a X570 ASRock build?

I have an ASRock X570 Taichi build. The latest EFI for it is available through the HackinDROM App. If you haven't used this app before, please give it a try. Use Post #3 in the link ("Create EFI") to download the EFI folder. However, the USB port mapping will, of course, be different from your board. But you can see how the USB port mapping is accomplished here (uses both SSDT and USBPorts.kext).

Tried it right now! Really cool app. Congratz! :D and thanks.

Can I go off topic asking you about a possible TB3 SSDT of my Dell XPS 9350 with Alpine Ridge DSL 6340 on RP01? I succeeded just on TypeC hot-plug, I tried and tried a lot of mod with .aml you can find it on the EFI if you want to take a look maybe? I think is the first Thunderbolt generation, no? If you can't don't worry but if you have any suggestion it will be appreciate.

I don't know if the tests I made with the UAD Apollo Twin were OK because I know that UAD gives some problem without DROM flashing. So I have to take a TB3 Hard disk to have a good test, I think no?
Inside there is the EFI and two IORegs if you want to take a look.

Hi @CaseySJ thanks so much as always for all this documentation! So much has changed since just November or so, when I first installed OpenCore onto my B550 Vision D. I went through the steps to use the HackinDROP app to update to OC 0.6.9, but I had some critical error on boot which I've attached here. So I took a closer look at this thread and saw someone else (I can't find it ATM) had something similar happen and you advised that there was a version switch to make... but that all looked a bit more complicated than just attempting the manual install (I will return to HackinDROP once I read up more on it).
This time I took the M.2 out and manually copied your v69 zip to the EFI, unzipped it there, renamed my old one "EFI-orig", named the new one "EFI", and was able to reboot into the new OC!
I wanted to mention that upon booting however, all my network connections went out and would not reconnect. I rebooted but same thing. Then just on a whim, I rebooted my home router and went on a walk with my wife. When I returned, everything was reconnected! I don't know what happened but could it be that strange solution called PATIENCE which I almost never try... and it worked this time!?

One issue that I'm having, and I thought updating to the new OC and upgrading to Big Sur 11.3.1 would solve it... but my App Store won't log me in. It goes through the process, accepts my username and password but never signs me in. I am signed in correctly in the Apple account areas in the system prefs and accepted all the new security prompts. Any idea what's causing this? I saw some others online with similar issues, but I wanted to check here and make sure this isn't an issue with the hack?
