Something's not right here. After I mounted my EFI and "updated" I now have this after reboot:

I can only mount the EFI-WDC-866, yet the normal (original) EFI loads on startup! This normal?
"EFI-WDC-866" is indeed a partition mounted by HackinDROM App, if you unmount it with HackinDROM App then "EFI-WDC-866" will be renamed back to "EFI"

Yes this is actually a feature. Several macOS apps don’t work correctly when we mount two or more EFI partitions with the same names. For example, OpenCore Configurator and even BBEdit cannot handle it. That’s why we now give each EFI partition a unique name.

Ok, but why isn't the new partition loading? O.C. keeps defaulting to the old EFI, so how can I point it to the new updated one?

Have you selected the correct drive from BIOS boot selector?

I only have the one boot drive, that's my NVMe where Mac OS is installed. No matter what I boot from "EFI" and not "EFI-WDC-866" boots. If I use HackinDROM App and mount and unmount nothing changes. I can only access EFI-WDC-866 to make edits when it mounts. Only EFI-WDC-866 shows up in Clover:

I am pulling out my hair!

I'm sorry but I dont understand what is the issue

  • You have only one boot drive
  • And on that drive's EFI partition you have OpenCore bootloader EFI folder
  • You are able to boot your macOS from that EFI partition/folder

Ok, but why isn't the new partition loading?
No additional partition is created when you use HackinDROM to Update or install OpenCore

Hello @aol,

Are you planning to update to OpenCore 0.6.9? Do you regularly update to latest OpenCore within a few days of each release?

If not, it’s still okay to add your EFI folder, but I still need to ask.

I'll update to 0.6.9 but it's probably more like a week.
