It can be.
You most likely will have to modify the MMIO whitelist.
That area even has to modified after any BIOS updates, as well.
It's complex. I only found out about on another site.
There is also a section under platform that is used to fix Mac Pro 7,1 throwing max memory notification.
I had to stick to f4i even though latest bios for Designare is f4q.

Hi, I would like an advice from you guys using TXR40.
I have a perfectly working Catalina install on a 7980XE. I am very satisfied with my system, although I would prefer having more PCI lanes at my disposal.
Is Threadripper completely stable and are there any software issues on MacOs to be encountered compared to intel?
Thank you very much!

Do you guys have issues with the last pvi slot? Mine doesn't post whne all the slots are occupied?

Very stable

Thanks for the feedback! As for the wifi, can you swap the Fenvi module in place of the Wi-Fi 6 AX200? I would like to switch due to the PCI lanes and I would not like to lose a slot to that.

Yes you can.

Hello Foster and congrats ;)

i am pretty lost did you have to make virtualization for installing everything?

i cannot find a reliable method to install on my 3970X TR40x Aorus master

if you have a link about how to, i will be thankful

No Virtualization at all

that is how the one lady on youtube was trying to get me to pay her to set it up.
I initially was trying virtualization when either I had a marginal CPU or telling QEMU/KVM to use all cores Linux locked up and started having machine check failures, CPU replaced by AMD no more problems

It is called bare metal
if you use my efi folder you should be able to boot the installer directly
Also the OC guide talks about AMD including sTRX4 TRX40

thx foster
i was able to manage to install flawlessly

too tricky to try with virtualization like Fabio recommended (he made a crazy good job by the way)
and the person you speak about, I saw some videos and didn't like the mood of the videos
by the way she/he was kicked out from a forum (I don't remember which one, I don't know if it is this one)

so far so good, and sooooo happy to come back to Hackintosh,
1 year under windows, waiting that a reliable native method would be created

How did you manage this? I get to the Apple Logo and it just stalls. I'm on Designare TRX40 v1.0 Bios 4i
