[Success] OpenCore 0.6.8 on my Mac Pro build

I was able to transition into OC from clover. A few days after switching, everything was alright. But recently, because I was doing my trial on 0C0.6.0, and switching back to 59 after a few times unsuccessful attempt. Now I lost my ALC layout ID injection, either through booter property, or through boot arg...

When you update you only replace about 6 things
Since you are new to OpenCore I would do it this way
use a spare USB drive as long as it is GUID partitioned
copy working EFI to USB EFI partition, test that it can boot your working system

Then compile latest OC from source
in the binaries folder you have release and debug
use the release version
I move the new folder to the desktop
Mount EFI partition on USB
replace the following items

EFI
Boot/BOOTx64.efi - I just replace the folder
OC
Bootstrap - just replace the folder
OpenCore.efi
Drivers
AudioDxe.efi
OpenCanopy.efi
OpenRuntime.efi
the hfs+ driver is not part of the core OC drivers

test and if it boots note what errors it shoes and adjust config.plist
if you see a line no schema for ......
that means they removed that item from config.plist you can delete that variable or parameter from it
note in 0.6.0 they changed some blocks to delete

If newly updated OC on usb drive boot system then copy it to system efi partition

even have two working macOS installs (Catalina and other) both work but hardware has developed an issue I have not figured out yet
GeekBench 5 scores higher than new Mac Pro with 28 cores and that's with the linux and VM overhead on my system

Did you make any changes to efi ? Did you upgrade from catalina or installed from usb ?

I had to update efi to lates OpenCore and make sure I had latest kexts

How I actually installed it was before it was public beta was released

@foster Congratulations to your OC build. I actually want to switch to OC too because of random troubles here and there with Clover.

I know there are a lot of replies in your post, but do you mind sharing which OC guide did you follow? And/Or if you have exact steps written down somewhere?
