[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

OK, so my USB ports are a mess in OC. They are carefully mapped and have hi current in Clover.
Is the USBPorts.kext method of mapping no longer supported? I copied this over from my Clover EFI and removed the USBInjectall stuff, but it clearly doesn't work.
What am I missing?

Hi there.

Don't know what's missing.

You should be able to transfer your USBPorts.kext over to OpenCore and it will work fine.

However, you can't just copy the kext into the EFI/OC/kexts folder as you did with Clover. You have to explicitly declare it in your config.plist:

:)

Aha. Declare. Arg. I just threw everything in the bin and emptied it.... it wil just show up in the config.plist if i put in the right folder, ready to be marked?
I have to get used to the marking/unmarking way of working.

You have to add the line with USBPorts.kext to your config.plist so that OpenCore will inject it.

:)

Thanks, UtterDisbelief!
It took some futzing(OC newbie)but now it works OK, I see the right ports and I can charge my iPhone with 1600 mA, according to System Info. This may be a lie. Charging is kinda slow.
But I am happy that it works now.

After recently switching from Clover to OpenCore, I discovered I no longer need my custom USBPorts kext.

At first I brought over my custom map, but then when updating from OC 0.6.6 to 0.6.8 I did a test boot without it. I was delighted to find all the ports worked.

CaseySJ explained that this is because his EFI folder contains a custom map for the z390 Designare. Hope it works for you too - nice to have one less thing to worry about.

FYI, this mini-guide is highly recommended for Clover-to-OpenCore switchers:

If they are coming from TZ (thermal zone) they can be ignored.
SSDT-XOSI.aml for TZ errors. Rename all not just DSDT.

Has anyone had any issues slow stuttering Bluetooth and WiFi when network activity is high with the Fenvi T919? If so is there a fix?

OK, so the icons on my login screen are huge. I have tried to fix this with the OpenCore output arguments, but now the OC boot icons are huge too instead of fixing the Login screen resolution.

Wiped the NVRAM, cleaned the cache, but still wrong.

How can I fix this?
