Hi there,

I just switched my GTX750Ti by a Sapphire RX 570 ITX (mini) for obvious reasons. I use dual displays with DVI and HDMI. Currently, I run without any kexts. nVidia drivers uninstalled. Issue happens in High Sierra and Mojave.

Everything works just perfectly, despite that the fan of the graphic card will start to spin at max speed when booting, and also when waking up from sleep. Sometimes only for a second (I know such behavior, but only when booting), but sometimes much longer. Maybe a minute or so.

I first thought it happened when I switch on the second display, but when going back to one display mode, it is still there. Eventually, it is a bit longer when the system has already worked a bit, but I am not sure.

So I installed Lilu and WhateverGreen (no special settings, just installed in EFI). Nothing went better, so I uninstalled again and now I ask for your help.

Any idea what to try next? Did I miss to set some parameters to Lilu or WEG?

BR,
Karlson.

Hello,

I have the same card, and have the same behaviour. I believe night be just how the card works, and it does the same thing when running windows.

Did you find any solution?

I have the same card and have run it in a Haswell and Ivy Bridge system on Mojave and experienced the same behavior...seems to be normal. I'm pretty sure I've had it happen booting into Windows 10 as well.

Has this been solved or explained?
I was hoping this card would be silent for most of the time unless under significant load - but seems it is more random?

hi guys, i've found a good deal for the same gpu (saphire pulse rx 570 itx 4gb) and i want to swap my gtx970 with it.
I'm planning to use it under High sierra and soon on a fresh mojave install.
At the moment my clover config has just nvda_drv=1 with lilu/weg in efi kext folder, and imac 17.1 system def. (i'm on a skylake system)
is enough to disable the nvidia flag and i'm good to go? or i need to change framebuffer or other stuff to have sleep working and dual monitor (main monitor on displayport, hdmi used for video output while using premiere or ae)?
@karlson12 do you have any tips to have it at full power with metal support?
thanx

Sorry for the late reply, I switched to a real iMac and came back today because I want to upgrade my good old Hackintosh to Big Sur (running Catalina currently). My system is a Sandy Bridge on Z68 board.

I dont't do anything special. I have Lily/WhateverGreen kexts installed, currently Clover 5119. I never used two monitors on my Hackintosh. Metal is fully supported. iMac15,1 until 2 minutes ago, now at iMac19,1 to check already for BigSur.

But maybe you already had a success. If not, just ask. I will try to look here soon.

BR,
Karlson.

thanx for the reply.
i made it with a simple nvidia drivers disable, and with same system def everything is working fine.
