[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Please list the steps you took to create the USB install disk. Just use a bullet list to briefly describe each step.
Here's the process:

-Create Big Sur install (11.1) using downloaded installer from Apple and terminal command
-Used the mini guide to create an EFI folder with OC 0.6.3 and followed all the steps from this guide
-Made Platform info with this utility
-Once all the steps were finished, changed the config-AMD.plist to just config.plist
-Mount the EFI partition with Clover Configurator and copy the EFI folder
-Eject the drive
-Make sure the BIOS on my system is matches everything from the guide, CFG-lock is also disabled
-Insert USB drive and power up my system, pushing F12 and pick the UEFI folder then it stops after I try the install

When that didn't work with 0.6.3, I tried with OC 0.6.5 repeating the process above but made sure to get the 0.6.5 files from this post. Also used AMD OC 065 from HackinDROM utility.

Lastly, I tried cmd+V as you suggested to get into verbose mode and only got this on my screen.

I use Gigabyte x299x designare 10g and LG ultrafine 5K. I have not refreshed my on-board Titan controller at present, because I am not sure whether the screen will go black after refreshing the firmware. I wonder if you have any experience in this field.

This indicates that the OpenCore config.plist may have been edited with OpenCore Configurator, but without setting its preferences pane to OC 0.6.5 version. OpenCore Configurator only supports the current and previous versions of OpenCore, which means 0.6.5 and 0.6.4. So if we use 0.6.3, we will need to use a Plist Editor such as ProperTree, PlistPro, XCode, or BBEdit.

Anyway, please compress and post your EFI folder from the USB install disk.

Anyone have experience with the Alpine Ridge Card? I'm trying to get my Thunderbolt Display to work properly.
The display itself work just fine, but no USB, Camera, Speaker or Mic. My LacCie Big2 daisychained also works.
if you want to start another thread, I'll share my experience and (partial) success with the Alpine Ridge card and the Apple Thunderbolt monitor.

This might be a side effect of the manner in which your config.plist was updated. Can you list the steps that were taken?
I just downloaded the open core 0.6.5 from the post and copied the files to system efi partition and that’s all and no changes has been made to config.plist please help I need the gui back

The content of “config.plist” changes with every new release of OpenCore, which is why we must either update our existing config.plist so that it conforms to the new specifications, or we must use one of the config files provided in the ZIP file and transfer our serial numbers into it. The details are in the OpenCore 0.6.5 Mini-Guide.

Thanks Let me doit and update you accordingly and one more thing @CaseySJ Brother I am unable to use all the USB port front ports are not working system stop responding in case I go ahead and use the from USB 3.0 Ports and intel wifi not working at all and Bluetooth also not working please help em with all the issues and thunderbolt ports need to be working

Enabling the XhciPortLimit flag in OpenCore allows us to exceed the 15 port limit

@CaseySJ Can you give me a hand to enable USB 2 in my USB C ports overriding the 15 ports limit?,

I just got a new iPad Air and can't set it up with a backup from an older iPad, just charge it, besides probably I'll have to use sometimes an USB C (I mean USB 2 with USB C port) audio interface that I'll like to plug it in the rear USB C ports

Thanks a lot!

Thanks so much for the guidance!!! It worked like a charm .... first got the F9i firmware update from the gigabyte website. The only thing to note is that you need to save your BIOS params to an external disk, as a firmware update destroys that data. Not a big deal. So I re-did BIOS params setup, F7, disable VT-d, enable internal graphics, enable above 4G, set TB security level to no security, enable TB USB support, enable GPIO3 Force Pwr, enabled USB XHCI Handoff, window features set to Other OS, CSM support disabled and CFG-Lock disabled. On the USB EFI partition I copied over CaseySJ's OC 0.6.5, copied AMD to config.plist, edited the ROM, MLB, UUID, Serial Number and System type. Then copied over SSDT-GPRW.aml from Clover's EFi, and used the OC configurator to add a reference to it, and also created a patch for that SSDT. Except from some strange message about Deduplicate something when EFI boots - not sure what is - or if it matters, Catalina seems to be working perfect booting from OC. I'll play with the system a few days, make sure is completely stable, and I guess I can just use the System Preferences -> Software Update to update to Big Sur, after making a Catalina backup.

Thanks so much CaseySJ and all the other people that kindly helped me!

Deduplicate was removed in OC 0.6.5. To get rid of the message you need to remove the entry in your config.plist.

Yes, I did go into Opencore Configurator (v2.22) to verify the Platform info was correct after generating a new SMBIOS by HackinDROM. This is with the AMD-config.plist from the 0.6.5 folder from a few pages back. I do get a message in Opencore Configurator saying that the NVRAM isn't native and one is created by the app for 0.6.5 and higher, and it does show 0.6.5 in the preference pane. The only other option I get in this version is 0.6.6 development version.

Either way, please find the EFI folder I used attached.
