Hello @bergui45 I have forgotten on v8.0 the BOOT directory and the Modified GRUB Shell which is needed to unlock CFG. I have deleted and reuploaded the release file XiaoMi-Air-6200U.8.0.zip . Please use that instead. Sorry for this

So my understanding is that you have an internal disk with clover and you are trying to boot from an external USB with OpenCore?

To boot with the EFI I uploaded you need to unlock the CFG. Also you need to erase the NVRAM. Where do you have the OpenCore EFI installed that I have posted? Which version of macos are you currently running.

Hello Sakoula,
What a pleasure to get you again!
;-)
YES i try to install BS on my USB external disk and keep the Catalina 10.15.7 on the inner SSD than runs with Clover 5019...
I have already updated my SMBIOS so i will reuse my config.plist or better copy and paste in your new EFI
I have installed your OC EFI on the BS install USB

But still i do not have Modify Grub Shell in the OC menu after hiting space?
Erase the NVRAM from the OC menu also?

hi,

I have changed the v8.0 version on github a couple of hours ago. It includes modGrubShell and CleanNVRAM. see attached picture. So do the following:

1. redownload v8.0 from github and place the EFI on the USB disk

2. make sure to update SMBIOS entries. note that the format is different than clover.

3. boot from USB hit space and select CleanNVRAM

4. reboot from USB hit space and select VerifyMSRE2 to see whether it is locked or not.

5. if locked reboot from USB and follow the unlock procedure by selecting modGRUBShell

6. reboot from USB with OC. Do you have BigSur on your external disk?

PS: How do you plan to upgrade?

PS2: I have not tested to try and boot the OS from the external DISK. I assume it would work but I am not sure.

Hi ! Super useful guide, especially since OC update, I've been able to at least reach install screen !

One question, is it possible to use WiFi to continue the installation, or I have to go through something else ? Because I've been trying to load itlwm without success, and I don't have any Android phone for tethering...

Thanks !

OK i will try once again...
Things have improved!
After hiting space and then select Modify Grub shell and setup_var 0x84A i got:
GUID matches expected GUID offsett 0x84a is 0x01
Then verify MSRE2.efi i got
This Firmware has locked MSR oxE2

Here i'm stuck because Unable to unlock CFG lock?
Thanx for a last trick...

hi there,

please reread the guide and follow the steps as showed there. As it is written there you need to disable cfg by typing

setup_var 0x84A 0x00

for itlwm you need helliport as well in order to have a working wifi.

once you download big sur installation from system preferences you do mot require a network connection anymore.

please follow the guide.

hi again,

so you cannot use itlwm during installation, I usually ise an ethernet usb dongle for network connectivity at this stage. However you do not require network connectivity to install macos. You can setup icloud and everything later when you are in Os.

If you want to have wifi connectivity during installation try using AirportItlwm.kext

I am not using that due to the limitations it has with the hidden networks.

let me know if you need help on how to add this in the posted efi

Well if it's like how itlwm is integrated, I can copy/paste the same model and modify it for AirportItlwm ? I guess I also have to load IO80211Family, that I don't know how to

And for info, A09 BIOS works perfectly fine for CFG Lock, you can add it to your guide

Thanks for the information on the A09! I will update the guide

Regarding IO80211Family you do not have to do anything, secure boot is already enabled in the provided v8.0 . (reference https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/ktext.html#wifi-and-bluetooth )

so you need to do the following:

1. remove `AIR_EFI/OC/Kexts/itlwm.kext`

2. add `AIR_EFI/OC/Kexts/AirportItlwm.kext`

3. use ProperTree > OC Snapshot to update the config.plist or do it manually
