From estimates this is the biggest macOS release in terms of GBs of data. It's going to be bogged down for hours. Why not just wait till later this evening ? Apple will not run out of downloads the way that E-Tailers run out of Ryzen CPUs within minutes. There are also more people on the net in general due to the pandemic so that is also a factor here.
