I just made a fresh Catalina installer with Unibeast from my hackintosh running Mojave. It boots from clover and let’s me choose the installer partition and loads through a couple Apple logos and then comes to this screen asking for a six digit passcode to unlock this Mac. I’ve never seen this in all my time hackintoshing. Why does it say “Hi Dummy”? I’ve already turned off Find my Mac. Any ideas to get this working?

Okay. Got to be said. Please complete your hardware Profile properly. It's part of the Site Rules and helps others to help you.

Where did you get your copy of Catalina from?

Why would you need a passcode to install Catalina? Find My Mac only works on registered, fully-installed Mac OS devices, not PCs you haven't got that far with.

The only thing I can think of might have happened is that you have used a serial-number from a real Mac and that has been locked. A long-shot maybe.

Looks well dodgy (to be technical about it).

is it possible that a serial number from a real mac has been used on this installation?

I checked it against the Apple Service site and it said not valid, so I don't think this is a number from a real mac.

So have you tried going to icloud.com and getting a PIN number? (If one is available).

Doing a Google search for images of the Find My Mac "Wrong Passcode" screen brought up this one:

It seems to have a username or HDD name or iCloud reference in "" underneath like yours does.

This used to happen fairly regularly - See SEARCH for details.

Why does it say “Hi Dummy”?

As it is a fresh install I would guess that you have the same serial number as a real Mac that has been lost or stolen and the owner has set a password to protect data if found.

Even if it's not valid doesn't mean another person that owns a hack is not using that same serial #. Did you by any chance use someone else's EFI folder ? I'm often seeing people upload their EFI folder with all the serial info still intact.
