Problem examples:
When installing High Sierra on HFS+ formatted volume, installer reboots around 2 minutes left of the process, making impression that it has crashed. If console is enabled, then something along these lines will be printed immediately before reboot:
This message is a red herring. There wasn't actually any error at all: after installer reboots (1st phase), boot from your USB key again and choose "Install macOS" on the screen to continue installation from your HDD (2nd phase). After running for only around 2 minutes the new setup screen will suddenly reboot (or "crash") again: this is still not an error. Boot it once more (3rd phase) from your HDD and installation would finish.
if you don't have an option to continue setup from your HDD, then you have a different problem, which is completely unrelated to "Volume is not convertible to APFS" message. Something prevents Clover from seeing your HDD or booting 2nd installer phase from it.
Edit: actually, it will print this message even if your volume is converted to APFS already.
[Solved] Crash / Reboot on Fresh High Sierra Install
Hi. I'm doing a fresh install on an SSD(Samsung 850 Evo). I boot via the USB and when I start the installation after about 1 minute ("about 2 minutes remaining") the machine crashes to black and restarts. The errror log reads as such : osishelperd[591]: Failed to set NVRAM property...

Is not convertible to APFS
I have some problems in my HP Pavilion Gaming with the Mojave installation process. It doesn't let me install it on my SSD. I have also tried to install it on an HDD disk in MacOS + and it still gives me the same error (Disk25s1 is not convertible to APFS)
