Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ I know this is a thread for the vision D, but i have been successfully using the Z490 Gaming X for over a week now. But I see that you have MSR unlocked and i probably should unlock it on my rig as well. May i just ask you what patch in your EFI (or where in the config.plist) requires it? I don't want to ruin my installation and it might not be exactly the same procedure to unlock it ;)
You may use the tool on Pages 4/5 as @Ploddles mentioned. My recommendation is to use a USB flash disk to test the changes as follows:
  • Boot macOS and mount EFI partitions of internal macOS SSD and a USB flash disk.
  • If using a brand new USB flash disk, run Disk Utility to format it with Scheme GUID Partition Map. That will create an empty EFI partition.
  • Copy the entire EFI folder from the macOS internal SSD to EFI partition of the USB flash disk.
  • Now the USB flash disk is bootable.
  • Make and test all OpenCore changes on the USB flash disk.
  • Press F12 during BIOS splash screen to open the BIOS Boot Menu, select the USB flash disk, then from the OpenCore Picker, choose the normal macOS SSD.
If you have specific questions about CFGLock.efi, just ask.

Hello!
Started my Z490 Vision G using this manual, thx!
Can anyone explain (or link for topic) how to make SSDT for my USB ports? I have some ports disabled on my Vision G (1 or 2 on back, 1 on front connected to USB 3 on MB, and 1 on front works only when USB 2.0 device inserted).

Glad to hear it worked on the Vision G! In Post Installation --> General Help we have at least 2 easy to follow guides for USB port configuration:

After extensive time dedicated, I must conclude, there is no merit, at this time, to integrating the Radeon RX 5700 XT as part of the Z490 platform build.

Exploiting the RadeonBoost Kext produced frequent dependability issues.

Thanks for your answer, i will indeed test the EFI on a USB dongle first, but my question was more about what i need to change in my config.plist after having unlocked MSR, but i guess i found the answer reading this thread.

Should just deactivate the APpleCpuPmCfgLock and AppleXcpmCfgLowk boxes in the Kernel tab in opencore configurator on my current EFI that works fine? Or is there anything else i need to do?

Correct — just disable those two checkboxes afterwards.

I removed the SSDT for USB from Vision G (to make my own for Vision G), and all USB ports worked just with USBInjectAll.kext (tested by Hackintool), because there were enough ports (no more than 15). Four rear USB 3 ports is one USB 3 hub on SS07/HS07.

For Vision G you just need to remove SSDT-UIAC-VISION-D-V1.aml and SSDT-USBW.aml to enable all USB ports.

** Update: if you downloaded the ZIP file in Post 1, please re-download because kexts folder was empty **
Where do i find the attached zip file?

I've added a strike through that post because it no longer applies. It was referring to the preliminary OpenCore EFI, but the build guide in post 1 now contains version 2.
