This one was tricky for me...

I updated to 10.15.5 with no problems so I thought this would be easy as well. I installed the latest Lilu, Whatevergreen, and VirtualSMC. I was already on the latest Clover 5118, so no changes there. Then I backed up my system.

This "supplemental" update was definitely not as easy as the first one. While updating from system preferences, the updater changed (or reset?) the UEFI on one of the restarts and it refused to boot after that. At first I just thought that it had failed for another reason and restored form my backup. When the backup also refused to boot I looked at the UEFI settings. UEFI only boot had changed to UEFI + Legacy. Windows OS configuration had Windows 7 boot turned on instead of off. XHCI handoff was also turned off. I reset to UEFI only, Windows 7 boot disabled and XHCI enabled (I couldn't remember if I needed this, but I thought it couldn't hurt to turn it on).

The system booted just fine so I tried again from the system preference software update. The UEFI was reset just as before, but this time I was ready. I entered the setup and changed the parameters as described above, and after that everything proceeded as normal. I am now fully updated:

I've had a very similar problem since updating to 10.15.5, as well as the supplemental. In my case, when I backup using the latest version of CCC a mysterious "Mac OSX" drive shows up and is set as the boot drive in my BIOS. Of course, just like yours, my computer won't boot and I have to go into the BIOS and set the proper UEFI boot drive. I've gone to Clover's shell and deleted the spurious entry or entries. At that point I'm fine until I clone again, at which point the mysterious but nonexistent Mac OSX drive shows up and I have to reset my BIOS again. I've got Bombich looking into this issue and I'll report back what he thinks the problem is even though he doesn't officially support Hackintoshes.

All fine here smooth update 20 mins

My update completed, About this Mac shows 19F96, but software update still says the update is waiting to be installed. Anything to delete/reset to fix that?
Fixed: clicked the update button again, it went to the end but with the "unable to set the boot disk" warning but rebooted and back to 19F96 without the notification about updating. It works, not going to dive deeper as the enemy of good is better.

Works for me.

MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PLUS Z390 GAMING X | i5 9400F | RX 580 Pulse 8GB

All worked like a charm, no problem with audio, wifi and bluetooth!
Updated 4 kexts and updated Clover to v5118.
Backed up all using CCC, also the EFI partition.
Then started the update. Downloaded the update file the system restarted.

The screen become black with the Apple logo and the progress bar. At about 10% the system restarted.

After a PC restart into Clover boot menu I choose "Install from name_of_the_disk", then the white logo on black appear and a few minutes later the system started showing the installation screens.

Then a new restart, this time I choose to boot from "name_of_the_disk" option and go through al the new screens of the installation and finally on the desktop.

Everything is working.

Done!

P.S: I've tried the update without updating Clover (I had the 5013 version) but it was not successful.
