That's good news, at least partially!I forgot to check the FireWire tab, good call! It is actually there. I'm trying to connect a Camcorder. And on the display of the camcorder it says that its connected.. but computer doesn't recognise it.. oh well. I'll do some more testing. Thanks for the help!
One thought before my knowledge runs out ... try one of the other PCI slots, as I believe the PEG1 device in IOreg is related to external graphics. Possibly macOS expects a graphics card in the PCI slot you're currently using.
After changing the slot, check if you can still find the IOFireWireController in IOreg and see if it is located under an other device than PEG1. Hopefully this will work.
