Your RTX 1660 Ti is not supported by Nvidia drivers since macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
The RTX 1660 is not supported at all under any Mac OS.

Hello,
Seeking help from the community for my first Hackintosh.
  • ASUS TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING
  • i7 9700K 3.6GHz
  • integrated INTEL UHD 630
  • Corsaire Vengeance 2x8Gb RAM
Installation with Clover went fine (but Had to use a FakeCPUId=0x0106E0). High Sierra installed first then updated to Catalina.

GeekBench gives me a single CPU score around 200 and IPG shows a CPU @ 800MHz.

Fighting with this for 1week; checked hundred of forum pages; etc etc
One odd thing I noticed is the 'cpus' entry in IORegistryExplorer

Did I miss anything obvious? Can anybody review my config.plist? Thank you in advance!

Download Hackintool app and follow this guide to get your UHD630 graphics to work.

Thanks!
However, the DisplayPort works fine.
My main issue at the moment is the CPU being stuck at 800MHz.
I noticed it would jump to 3.6GHz after wake-up from sleep.

Thanks @techtone

Only if I could make "Unlock with Apple watch" work. Anyone else successful at that?

Also ordered Nitro+ 5700XT now that it's supported by MacOS.

I built the EFI again and patched USB port limit. The new case has a USB-C up front and I wanted it working.
I have it working here. I mean I didn't do anything special I don't think it Just worked when I tried it. It can be flakey But works prolly 80-90% of the time.

Hey all.
I'm looking to make my first build, which includes "ASUS TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING (Wi-Fi)". I've a few queries:
1. This mobo has a wifi and a non-wifi version, any preference of one over the other?
2. Does the S1200A audio chipset work OK in Catalina?
3. Are there any reports of a working build with initial/direct install of Catalina?
4. With an i7, RX580, 1TB M.2, 32GB and a SATA disk, does anyone have an updated PSU recommendation?
5. Should I go Fenvi T919 or go for an M.2 Broadcom chip for Wifi and BT?

Thanks!

Hey @dlgoodchild

I have nearly identical hardware and here's my recommendation:

1. This mobo has a wifi and a non-wifi version, any preference of one over the other?
A. Built-in WiFi doesn't work on Mac so might as well go for non-WiFi version if you can save $$s

2. Does the S1200A audio chipset work OK in Catalina?
A. Yeah I have it working

3. Are there any reports of a working build with initial/direct install of Catalina?
A. I installed Catalina 10.15.4 (19E266) directly and it worked fine. My config is Asus z390m pro Wifi, i5-8600k, Sapphire Vega 64, Crucial sport LT 16GB 3200, 1TB Samsung m.2 970, EVGA G3 750w

4. With an i7, RX580, 1TB M.2, 32GB and a SATA disk, does anyone have an updated PSU recommendation?
A. I suggest you create a PC part picker list and see the combined power usage. My guess is that your usage will be around 450w. Ensure there's enough headroom in PSU so select at least a 650w high quality one.

5. Should I go Fenvi T919 or go for an M.2 Broadcom chip for Wifi and BT?
A. Fenvi T919 - I used it in a few builds and works out of the box. The WiFi speeds are a lie though: you get slower speeds than advertized but both WiFi and BT work

The only thing I'm debugging still is NVRAM that seems to be not working at the moment.

@dlgoodchild

FYI

My guess is that your usage is less that 450W combined.

Don't skimp on the PSU and go for 650 Watts or more. As a double check run through the Seasonic Wattage Calulator

In practice there is more to selecting a PSU than wattage - look for a top quality brand that features Japanese capacitors in the build. If in doubt check the reviews on Jonny Guru
