Against my gut instinct, I tried completing the 10.15.3 update from 10.15.0 this morning...and my system has gone kaput. It seemed to install fine through a couple of reboots until all the install disk options had disappeared from Clover, but now when any partition boots, the screen goes black after the Apple loading screen gets 90% through the bar. I can’t even load the recovery disk and I have no idea how to fix this.

My system specs are in my profile, except that I swapped my gpu for a gigabyte Radeon 570.

Please help!

Interesting...
First make sure you have latest kexts installed and update your clover folder
Second add agdpmod=pikera to boot args

Sadly, I ran the system update without updating those first, and now I can’t even get into my system to fix those...

oh.. bummer.. you can add the boot arg when clover starts up

I managed to get recovery booted by switching to my integrated graphics and I’m attempting a fresh install of 10.15.0. Then I’ll update as suggested before trying the .3 installer again.

share you clover before you update and I will have a look, it happened to me too but it was the boot args that caused the problem. for reference, here is my clover folder, less is more, only use what you know you need. some kexts and drivers can cause issues when not needed

Just a reference

The reinstall got to two minutes, stalled, then gave me the “could not create prebiotic volume for APFS” error and dumped me out of the install. Starting to really panic now.

Look at my patched folder, you need those

What the heck is going on....

I borrowed a MacBook from work, downloaded the Catalina installer, installed the latest unibeast and created the installable usb drive...

And I’m getting the same behaviour. The Apple screen loads for a bit then my monitor loses the signal and I can’t tell what’s happening. I even added agdpmod=pikera to the boot args.

Why on earth would this still be happening with a fresh unibeast install??
