To AMD RX 580 or RX 570 owners. How well do they handle HEVC?

Wait. Your Skylake IGPU plays the video I linked to in post #1???
 
iGPU is in headless mode, and yes the video does play just fine using quicktime in mohave. The RX 580 is always the primary.

Ah. I misunderstood. I thought you meant IGPU only (as in no dGPU).

Depends on what you do with it, for the most part it works great. Just like if you don't bother enabling the iGPU. I went months before I realized I couldn't open a jpeg! My daughter has been using a 9100F all Summer with no issues.

Sorry for the confusion, yes for a igpu only would require kabylake or newer I believe.
 
The video can run smoothly on both of QuickTime and IINA, although the temperature of my GPU increased to 57 ºC.
 
Mine playes fine with the 580 even though my iGPU is enabled.
 
Video plays great on my system, no problems at all on High Sierra 10.13.6 running a Sapphire 570 Pulse. iGPU is disabled in Bios by default as I use two 27" monitors connected by Display Ports.

What did you do to get HEVC working? I just added the RX 560 to my system. The graphics card shows up in system information but HEVC is not working. I have not installed "Core Graphics Fixup AKA WhateverGreen" in multibeast.
 
Mojave. Setting to iMac pro 1,1 did the job + video tutorial
but DON't set SMBIOS to mac pro 7,1 unless U're on Catalina! It will kill clover plist to unbootable state!! Had to remove hard drive, connect it to usb to sata adaptor and use macbook to restore clover boot options. Actually I think that patching change GFX0 to IGPU and change PEGP to GFX0 did the trick. All other things in the video is a total mist for me )))) though i followed them. My motherboard is ASUS prime z370-a CPU8700, saphhire 570 rx 4 Gb
