[Guide] Lenovo Z50-70/Z40-70/G50-70/G40-70 using Clover UEFI

Fixed this by loading plist with name config_install.plist as when I renamed it to just config.plist it wasn’t loading or something. Now that the installation is running we will see how that goes.

Okay, clean installation and post installation went fine. After everything this is what is not working:

______________

WiFi loads 5 minutes after logging in after startup, bluetooth doesn't load at all. When I try to go into settings and change network related settings, it just freezes and there is no network device available. It starts working automatically in a few minutes, but bluetooth never does. I am using BCM943602BAED (DW1830) and in Mojave it was working just fine.

Touchpad is basically not working as when I just touch him mouse starts dancing on the screen and then even my external mouse becomes junky so I have to force restart - never use touchpad!! Trackpad isn't even detected in settings.

Numlock led is not working now - numlock is permanently ON but I think that's for a change good thing here actually.

_______________

I tried and did everything guy posted here in a #251 but even with all those drivers and kexts its not working as it should (regarding that wifi and bluetooth, that looks like a main issue here). I did clear kext caches.

Anything that comes to your mind guys?

Perhaps you had similar issues with your setup but managed to fix them? @daigosx

Here are my current kexts and drivers, followed guide in first step to download all things, config.plist wasn't changed, its original from repo.

EDIT: Found out it was immediately caused when using post installation process from #1 so as this guide is outdated I don’t recommend following it at least regarding kexts and other things. Will have to wait for an update I guess

For post installation you can try my forked script (see post #266). It installs proper kexts in EFI and not in /L/E
VoodooPS2Controller isn't working as expected, use the latest from Rehabman repos for now.

Thank you. Glad someone could update it for now!

I am not using git that much, so should I just clone your repo with that link instead of the guy from the post 1? And then just do everything the same?

yep. Backup your EFI before and have clover usb at hand, just in case.

I just tried it and right now I am at the command "./X50.sh --install-downloads" and this is the output. I am not sure if this is right as "command not found" is appearing almost at every line, so perhaps I am doing something wrong? I just did fresh install, so this git is first I am trying. EFI partition is mounted (all commands after worked fine):

EDIT: Looks like kexts were installed even with these "errors". So far it works good. What I wanted to ask is why is it now required to install it to the /Other? Is this now the only way of using kexts in macOS Catalina?

@daigosx do you think my post here may be related to your suggestion here even though I'm still on 10.14.6 on laptop? This keyboard and trackpad issue really has me scratching my head and I'm trying to figure out what might resolve this since it didn't happen on 10.13.x.

use the-braveknight's script to update your kexts and see if it solves your issue. My version of the script is for 10.15
