pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I'll be happy to give that a try. However, I just noticed that the 5102 - EMU clover package does NOT include AptioMemoryFix at all. It only offers OsxAptioFix3Drv + EmuVariableUefi. (I see they offer v3 not v2, so I'll try that however. I'll have to hunt around to find AptioMemoryFix, although I'll admit that if the Clover folks don't use it in their latest install, I'm reluctant to consider it...

Back soon!

Here you go...

Actually they have added it back!

Here you go...
The test with AptioMemoryFix.efi worked, and NVRAM seems to work too.

Given that NVRAM works, I'm not sure how I'd be able to tell the difference between AptioMemoryFix.efi and the OsxAptioFix3Drv + EmuVariableUefi combination, or whether it's worth worrying about. I'd just tend to go with what the Clover installer uses, but I'll live with this for a while... what the heck...

Ummm... well, it's not in the version I downloaded from TonyMac 4 minutes ago...

Good thing that is not the latest version. Tonymac does their own release maybe its weeks old who knows. Long story short, the team that makes Aptiomemoryfix, WEG, Lilu, and the likes have their own boot loader now and have stopped verifying if their stuff works with Clover.

Awesome. If it's working with AptioMemoryFix, don't bother going back to OsxAptioFix2Drv + EmuVarialbeUefi.

Now, that NVRAM is working, you can uninstall the RC scripts.

Things run better with native NVRAM. You will also now have kernel panic reports if/when your system crashes and it reboots. This is priceless when trying to troubleshoot stuff.

well, the TM version is 5102, so it's not too old - current is 5103. (And thanks for the notice! :)

I've only barely heard about OpenCore, which is apparently not yet ready for mere mortals like me. So we are all soon expected to replace Clover, learn an entirely new system, and start over again? Probably great fun for hobbiests, but not so much for those of us who just want a working machine.

I'll put off the change for as long as I can, or until the OC core is stable.

Is there somewhere here on TM I can keep up with the progress?

Thanks again ScottKendall

Oh yeah!... too bad my board doesn't have it.

It does now. That's why we went through all this...

If you are using AptioMemoryFix and /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/SSDT-PMC.aml, native NVRAM is working.

Uninstall the RC script stuff.

Your system has just been vastly improved.

Wow. As I recall the mobo manufacture's site, they explicitly state they do not have an Non-volatile RAM in this particular board. So are AptioMemoryFix/SSDT-PMC.aml two carving a space out of some other RAM, somewhere in BIOS? What else would be Non-volatile? Fascinating! I assumed that there was a NVRAM file somewhere, keeping info during poweroff, and reloaded at power on...

Live an learn.

Regarding the scripts, I found rc.boot.d directory, but I don't see what looks like scripts in it:

10.save_and_rotate_boot_log.local
20.mount_ESP.local
70.disable_sleep_proxy_client.local.disabled

am I not looking in the right place? what am I looking for? (Always happy to lighten the load! :)

Sure appreciate all the help here!
