@mgregrs

Wow !! :clap::beachball::D:crazy:
Everything working!
The fault was the "Above 4G" I have always had it deactivated, according to the KGP Guide it should be, in fact it worked well until Bios 1503, but something must have changed in the following Bios to have to activate it, many Thank you! Now I am updated! :headbang:

I have also mounted an image for the startup of the Bios, I found an image online, I changed the color a bit and I adjusted the size to be able to enter it in the .CAP
I hope you like it, thanks again!

Good job, great news! :D :thumbup:

I'm happy that all works now - how it should :thumbup:

(if I remember well, before was "Off" but after few months KGP mentioned about change in guide update)
//edit: yeah I found it
6.) /Boot/
a.) Fast Boot: Disabled
b.) Above 4G Decoding: Off (must be ON with Prime X299 Deluxe BIOS firmware 1603 and 1704 and WS X299 Sage 10G BIOS firmware 0905 in case of GPU firmware load and XHCI ACPI implementation issues.

--> Next good news:
I have new *.aml for you (based on your IOreg files) :D
If you use Catalina - it should work perfect with your nvme extension Card* nothing to do/ no replacement in Clover (AHXC etc as before for Mojave)

- Only copy this .aml file in ACPI / patched folder and reboot your system,
then after reboot check your PCI list and let me know ;)

With you config (much more NVME SSDs than me :p) and your IOreg files I could
make some bigger and better changes in my SSDT file.
When you will check it -> and "if positive result" will appear
finally I will be able to share in my thread - most completed version
of that .aml file and updated info for others :)

About BIOS: Very good idea :thumbup: - I have to check it later (maybe even today),
and maybe modify text on iMac Pro or Mac pro (with Photoshop) :p
BTW: More people do it - more choice for all and more pleasure on boot :D
This is what I wanted to do before: after tests with OC on Mojave,
and after successful installation of Catalina etc - I wanted to make
more versions of few new different images and styles ;)

That's what I want to do - replace 7900X with 109080XE :D
I already updated BIOS to check if everything works great etc...
- I impatient to see someone check it before - in hackintosh config.
I don't have 1100€ ready for buying it, but it's a good moment to wait and
look what we will use for cpu id, how it will perform on Mojave, Catalina etc...
More PCI lines (what I want in 1st place) and 18cores for half of price - I still can't belive :) :p

I can't tell a lot about GPU OC, but about thermal paste (after hundreds of hardware tested - mine or my clients)
without talking about details - with my personal experience and lot other users - I can say:
- Grezzly Products are absolutly the best, Kryonaut as thermal paste and
Conductonaut for LM which I use for my delided actual CPU
(If 1day someone try to choose Conductonaut or Liquid Pro from CoolLaboratory - 1st one is better,
but LiquidMetal is different story and not related to...what you need) :)

As normal thermal paste, before I tried/used a lot of Artic MX products as others to find the best solution,
and in 99,8% Kryonaut was simply the best :D
PS: As I said it's my personal experience in last 15 years of building PCs for me and my clients,
of course sometimes for less expensive configs, it's not worth to pay that price, but for enthusiasts as us,
I can't imagine something different :)

The only "paste" I use for GPUs is Liquid Metal....I did it on my secondary system on my Vega 56/64 (bios), and it made a huge difference when the card was stressed (and not a big difference when it was just sitting there doing routine tasks).

I can confirm 100% it's a good idea :thumbup:
but I prefer to recommend Kryonaut (standard thermal paste) for less advanced and often less careful users -
after bad experience from my one "novice" friend harware who wanted to try alone, as 3-4 beginners clients saw in last years :p
I personally love to use LM in my personal configs (depend of type of block/radiator etc.. you know..) and that's true, this is a big difference in stress, not so big in ramdom little task but still worth it :D

Hi bro, would you share your final working efi with me please. I have the same mobo and would like to save the time configuring it myself and also im still beginner at this.

If you are welling to share, please tell me which wifi/blutooth you are using and at which slot you installed it.

I saw rj510 efi, is this an opencore or clover? and the patched ssdt, should i also include them in the ACPI section under ssdt table?

Would really appreciate some guidance here, yeah and which bios version you are currently using? is it the same recommended 1902 that rj510 using?
Hello @WoodCabin :)
First of all - Please go to BIOS -> Boot - and check if you have "Above 4G Decoding" -> On :!::D
I regret to don't mention about that for people who reflash BIOS on our ASUS Prime Deluxe (I)
and I have 2nd pack of new better RAM and always after BIOS flash I have to
turn On PC -> wait few seconds -> turn off and press, or directly press MemOK button,
then after few seconds everything boot correctly and works great :)

What I do now - every time I save my BIOS config on USB drive, so after reflash I don't waste time to reconfigure
everything again and again with the same details.. :)
If you want... tomorrow I can share more details about my BIOS configuration, so you will be able to compare everything,
*** if something still don't work (after you check if your Above 4G Decoding is ON ;))
*** Of course I will check your all shared files and try to find some different things/details ...

BTW: Every time I forger enable 4G Decoding in BIOS I lost my mouse or I have other/different problems,
so it can be main details which cause your problems with USB etc..
If 4G decoding doesn't make a good enough job - leave it "On",
let us know and then we will find the rest of things/details what you need to fix your problems ;)

PS: I just finished installation of Catalina with your EFI (1st time tested today) (easy-peasy) :headbang:
I mean, it boot easy, all ACPI present - OK - etc etc... :D
Tomorrow I will check more little details, but at this moment I'm surprised
how easy it was, and how great it works at this moment... :p

---------------------------------

Hi @BavarianDNA
I just installed Catalina with new EFI which I try to configure it for my config, at this moment it's not finished...
if you need something immediately WoodCabin config is almost the same and very good on the same time
for our boards and very similar hardware as OSX Wifi 4360CD, Vega64 etc..

I can understand if you are beginner...,we all were there... :)
... so definitely you should read few forum guides and especially KGP guide few times :p and few pages from this thread to avoid some basic questions and believe me it will be useful in future.

- rj510 folder with ACPI patches and config.plist from (post 244 - OpenCore thread)
was for Clover (as he mentioned in his post, in 5th line, so definitely you should read more carefully:!: )

- You have to use only these ssdt files/patches which you need for your hardware,
basics .aml files for ours Asus MB and others like Vega64.aml for GPU, ARPT for WiFi/BT card etc etc
(as mentioned in KGP guide - it's detailed - even with photos etc etc... so it's easier to understand :) )

- About "guidance" - a lot of people will be able to help you, but you have to do a basic job,
it means read and learn basics, so if you don't spend some time on learning basics, people which
spent hours/days and months on research and tests will not spend their time for you...
That's why it's worth to read KGP and others guides etc, then if you have few questions - [first] use search tool,
and if you don't find something - write a question "in related to" ... thread :)

- About BIOS - I use 2002 BIOS with my custom image - which I shared in post #1300
Personally I recommend 2002, based on my tests and good better results than before .. in last few days, but as I said it's my personal opinion. PS: Remember to enable Above 4G decoding after BIOS flash :)

// edit...----------------
@WoodCabin after few minutes I have everything what I needed in ACPI,
View attachment 431031
- audio -> tested (100% OK)
- GPU -> few more points in Geekbench, and same result in Luxmark,
- CPU -> Slightly 1-2% better score in Geekbench for multi and 4-5% for single core score ...
Now, it's time to sleep and I will make few more tests tomorrow... :)
PS: For my ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 card I used only my SSDT,
no more replacement in Clover, tomorrow I will update more info in "related to" thread ;)

Have a good day! :)

Thanks bro, yeah my request is somehow sounded like a beginner and im in fact a beginner to some degree. I've been running Mojave 10.14.6 smoothly right now. I modified my own ssdt and now i also took some from rj510. the problem with my system is narrowed to 2 things : My GPU Fans (Which im currently testing out a solution for it), Do share if you have a solid one (mine is Asus strix vega 64). The second issue is kinda an issue (Fenvi t919). its not showing in the PCI list but under blutooth it shows that is supporting continuity and handoff but doesn't work from the power on the pc tho.

I have read KGP extensive walk through procedure steps and successfully installed Hackintosh.
Plus yours and rj510 helped in some way to improve it.

Im currently also running Catalina on a separate drive and seems running normal. But didnt have time to test it thoroughly.

Plus im noticing from time to time the cpu temps rasise up and come down in matter of few seconds. Do you have an explanation for that?

I'm almost up for my 2 years renewal.
Nothing much better than my current setup; however there's the i9-10980xe now, RRP < $980. I see a new BIOS for my X299 motherboard that supports this CPU.

So maybe a quick and easy upgrade this year. Anyone considering it?
Its tempting, but how fast it is compared to the previous gen. I might consider it next year, my rig is barely a year old and no complains so far. FCPx and Davinci resolve are working smoothly on my specs.

I will try
Hi there, just wondering how is your motherboard with your hackintosh and is there any issues you are having?

At the time of my build, i couldn't find the Gigabyte and thats why i went with the Asus instead. Up unit now wondering if i have waited or ordered it from outside would've been better. The reason that i've been always using Gigabyte for the last three builds over the 12 years and Asus is the first.

@izo1 hey there!

I connected my pump PWM cable to AIO PUMP header on mobo (if it's called AIO PUMP that would be a reason uh?!) and I got a 360mm push pull config too, where push fans are linked to CPU FAN and pull fans linked to CPU OPT. Something wrong? I've also set a fan curve to be silent then kick in at 65°C, in idle I'm at 30-35 (It's still hot here in Italy) like yours and about 85° in full load. Keep in mind I OC'd by core usage: from 2 cores at 5GHz to 18 cores at 4,3/4,4 Ghz. GeekBench 5 --> 1360 sc 18000 mc (pretty darn good!) CB20 9300ish

I don't think you need to connect AIO pumps to the pump header on the mobo, but it shouldn't make much of a difference. There's just different values/power sent to each different header by the mobo.

I've always connected AIOs or just regular pumps to CPU_FAN and I just connected fans to onboard chassis fan headers (with and without splitters). This way I could always control the CPU_FAN and radiator fans separately and adjust to noise/coolness ratio.

Either way the heat sensors are located on the CPU socket or around it, etc.

Thanks to izo1 and mm2margaret suggestions i solved the problem. I put again thermal paste and temp now in idle is max 30. But anyway i ordered a new water kit, ek water rgb kit 360...i think it’s time to return alphacool to amazon
PS do you use EATX12V1 cable too? I mean the one over pci-e slots...
