Asus X299 Deluxe II BIOS

Version 0802
2019/10/04
PRIME-X299-DELUXE-II BIOS 0802
1.Add support for Intel® Core™ X-Series 10000 Processor Family
2.Improve system performance and stability.
3. Change the default setting for ASUS MultiCore Enhancement to disabled.
Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (X299D2.CAP) using BIOSRenamer.

just ugraded to 0802, so far so good.

I've updated the latest X299 ASUS BIOS with the Apple Logo: PD1, PD2 and Rampage VI (here). The Sage/10G BIOS update has not yet been posted.

I'm using same mobo but different kexts/drivers. SMCLightSensor is only useful for a laptop, but probably doesn't matter much either way. I've had various issues with different SmallTree~ versions; I use another version. I have switched back to using USBInjectAll with an SSDT UIAC file. I use a different bootloader. I am presently not using NVRAM or FileVault. I am also using Clover 5070.

Attached are what I'm using; all are current commits. Try them as you wish. (I did not include SSDT files, TSCAdjustReset, nor any USBInjectAll related files.)

Presently keepsyms=1 and dart=0 are my only boot arguments (aside from uia_exclude=HS09;HS10;HS13;SSP3;SSP4;SSP7;SSP8;USR1;USR2 which is for USBInjectAll).

Thank you, I will check it out

Anyone installed 10.15?

Anything that people need to be aware off?

From the few threads it seems to be a straight forward update from 10.14, no clover changes etc. But I had read differently here from @izo1

I have had Catalina for a while on a separate SSD for testing, but I do not use it day to day like I do Mojave.

I put Catalina on a 8 core 2019 MacBook Pro and it was a horrible experience in a pro environment. Slowdowns everywhere, missing 32bit support (which is known of course) and just wouldn't recommend it for a production environment. Maybe in .3?

Other than that it runs ok but I just wouldn't switch over to it until Apple fixes stuff.

I use the same OpenCore booter for both Mojave and Catalina, works perfectly.

I Installed the GM version and it seemed faster than mojave to me. But now i'm trying to install Catalina Final Version and my monitors keeps on flickering all time and i don't know why. Do you know what changed from GM to final version?

I have the Radeon VII.

No idea, I haven't tried GM, the latest I got is Beta 11.

I am just going to let Apple fix this thing and try again in a few months, I'm in no hurry to be honest.

Just upgraded to the 128GB kit I mentioned a few posts back. QVL approved, it worked but took some time to get my TB card to be recognized. I used that as an opportunity to flash the Prime Deluxe to the latest 2002 BIOS, but then had to go into windows and reinstall the TB drivers to finally get TB to work. That was odd, but I am back up and running!

So, from 64gb 2133 CL15 to 128gb 3446 C16:
- Loading a 35gb template in Vienna Ensemble Pro went from 2:40 to 2:32, respectively - not significant, really.
- Geekbench 5 scores seem to be significantly lower than GB4, and I went from 1136 to 1195 on single core, and 14836 to 17153 on multi-core, respectively.

Overall, pleased, however much times may have changed, I can load more samples and work quicker.

Thanks, everyone!

Glad it did help a bit. I went from 64GB 2400 > 128GB 3200 and it was a big jump for me in terms of speed and amount.

128GB is A LOT of memory, and I get to utilize it all with background renders (almost 99.99% of it too!) and I can do stuff in the foreground while rendering.

Yes, I've installed it, and was on the beta for it, with no real issues. C612 implies a Sage? Also, do you really have a Xeon CPU?

I tried to Install 10.15 and still try to use OC instead Clover
(with 10.15 install and 10.14.6 in use everyday),
maybe too much on the same time, but still I'm angry
because I can't find what is missing, what I do wrong to stuck
at this moment every time:

I checked few downloaded EFI folders but still didn't found any
important difference in files - which can cause this msg at boot...

Thanks a lot for everyone who have some ideas ;)

PS: BTW: If someone is interested... few more ASUS mb have new BIOS update 2002 which support X-Series 10000 CPUs :) (very good news if we will be able to boot OSX with these new CPUs :D )
