[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Ah. I may back up and give it a shot, keeping the current serial #s. I'm still having an issue using playback buffers lower than 128 samples in Pro Tools with my TB3 interface. Sadly I have no TB3-ready mac to compare performance.

This motherboard does have functional NVRAM, which AptioMemoryFix can access, but not OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000. There’s no harm in using EmuVariable, but we have to be careful when booting from a different disk or when installing a MacOS update because the appropriate startup disk may not be selected in Clover by default.

Thanks for that. I did follow the step for replacing AptioMemoryFix with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000, so if it can't access the onboard NVRAM, I'll leave it all as is. Assuming on MacOS updates the reboot process will be same as it was on my old High Sierra Hack...have to select that "pre-install update boot" or whatever the name was drive instead of the Mojave HDD boot disk.

Please try the attached file by copying it to the CLOVER/ACPI/patched folder.
Thank you Casey! Ill try this out.

The Aorus Xtreme has been treating me well. I've been able to get just under 41K on Geekbench with all cores at 5GHz on this 9900K with considerable stability!

I'm severely looking forward to drivers for the 5700XT! My only complaint with this build is miserably slow PP exports which I think is due to my internal graphics and not running in headless.

Not sure if this is of any help to you, but I am able to get great playback at 32 samples in Pro Tools 2019 with The Apollo Arrow (TB3 powered interface)

Got another one, this is new LG with Designare (built-in Titan Ridge). He says he's going to buy a new DP 1.4 cable just in case the one he's using is not.
Nothing new in this one. Just a different serial number. Comparing this to "AGDCDiagnose new LG with MBP 2016.txt" helps to show the difference between a single connection and dual connection in the Device Dump section.
"Number of Tiles" is non-zero in the dual cable connection case of the MBP 2016.
"HW State" and "SW State" show the "Source Window" as 5120 x 2880 and "Dest Window" as 3840 x 2160 in this single cable connection case. In the dual cable connection case, you see "Source Window" and "Dest Window" as 2560 x 2880 for two connections. There appears to be info about Link bits (bpc), Link clock (DisplayPort speed), Link lanes, Link Format. I don't think Nvidia or Intel graphics outputs any of that info.

It's promising, thanks for letting me know.

@CaseySJ ah HA!

Finally got HotPlug working from restart and cold boot. The culprit was this bios setting. I had them both enabled. Just a heads up for anyone scratching their heads.

Native OS Hot Plug - Enabled
SW SMI on TBT hot-plug - Disabled

That sounds promising! Which SSDT are you using? And just to confirm: You can disconnect and reconnect your Thunderbolt 2 devices? We’re talking about a Falcon Ridge TB2 controller?

@WilliamHarp what about if you arm tracks for recording? For some reason playback is fine for me with lower buffers but as soon as I arm a track to record my system hangs, on-and-off.

Alpine Ridge if I'm correct. Asus EX3 TB3 card and I'm using a TB2>TB3 adapter.

I just tried leaving the device on and unplugging and replugging and it connected right away. The mouse sort of freezes up for a split second when I restart it but its just a quick glitch.

Here's the two patches. I likely got them from you.
