Try or test both. If off then off in bios and visa versa if on then on. It work fine for me but many users have had issues with timings, a lot of variables i.e mobo, ram, system definition etc...

Day 2 update: Still no slowdown and lag so far. This is looking good guys!

Edit: Well, it stills not 100% perfect. I had a slowdown in the afternoon. I had to kill WindowServer in the process to get all the speed back.

It might be the cause to our problems.

From Quora: WindowServer is a system service that acts as the liaison between OS X apps and your Mac's graphics hardware. Basically, if an app wants to draw something on your Mac's screen, WindowServer is the one telling the graphics card what and where to draw it.

I am glad I am not alone. I didn't know that I can disable WindowServer.

Anyone notices improvement in Catalina beta?

Which Radeon VII did you buy? Did you need to re-make the VGAtab kext? I don't see actual support for VII in VGTab...

No, there's no support for Radeon VII in VGTab.

All the Radeon VIIs were the same. All were reference design.
 
I am sharing this post... With the last update 10.14.6 I tested with Final Cut and BruceX 5k test and the results are 5/6 seconds to complete the task!!! Super fast I am so happy right now... and premiere I always tested exporting 12K Apple Pro Res 422HQ, and it tooked like 14/15 minutes. With the last update just 8 minutes, the half... it is not the same performance like in Windows (it took 5/6 minutes) but it is so close... About Geekbench I think it is a bug with Geekbench because I still have a lower score but all my software (Games, ProApps, 3D Apps) are working so nice and perfect, I had a Vega64 and the performance outperform a lot that VGA, It remains me when Geekbench could not tested OpenCL with nvidia cards, and at the end with a Geekbench update they solved that... maybe is the same scenario with the Radeon VII, because at this point the card works just perfect for me... and because an image is more important than millon words.. I am sharing a video showing that my test with BruceX 5K test...

Im a bit out of touch with the latest EFI settings/kexts so if you could share your EFI folder that would be great.
Also are you running headless on the UHD 630? Or turned off in BIOS?

I made a fresh post about this, but also want to post here in case one of you also came across this and discovered a fix, or is this just on the current state of Apple's driver in 10.14.6? I've read through this entire thread as well as any and all others on the topic that I could find here and elsewhere.

I upgraded from a Vega 56 to the Radeon Vii and after being on for a while, maybe 10-20 mins or so seemingly randomly, eventually the computer will always slow down and get jerky mouse response, pin the first core of my cpu in iStat which shows the activity as red system activity while the rest of the cores sit idle, core audio functionality halts, it will run jerky like this for a few minutes and then crash/restart itself. Had no issues with the Vega 56 whatsoever, running 19,2 with UHD630 in headless. I have been told the Vii should just drop in without any modifications to my setup/EFI required. The kernel panic is the same every time:

This is the first and only time I've ever seen a KP referencing this "spinlock" business, only with this Vii card running. Anyone???
