Hi... trying to install, but on restart I got a bunch of random purple lines and the progress bar isn't moving. Thoughts? I'm backed up, so I should be fine...

[Update: Never mind, panicked too soon. Purple lines are gone and Apple logo is back, with 6 minutes left to install.]

Okay, installation successful! But, no audio. Only HDMI showing up in the control panel. Confirmed Lilu 1.3.6 and Apple
ALC 1.3.8. Thoughts?

[Edit: Okay, fixed it again myself by using the -lilubetaall boot argument, but that was a desperation move, as I understood from this thread that just using the latest Lilu and Apple ALC would enable audio. What does that boot argument do, and why would I need it if I have the latest kexts?]

As I understand it, the lilubetaall argument enables all Kexts to work when the OS is in beta or not supported by the Lilu kext. I use the argument because I am lazy and I rather not compile my own since they never seem to work when I do.

Ah. Thanks for the explanation. That mostly makes sense. I always download the release version, and that has served me well over the past few years. In any case, all's well that ends well... sound is working well. In fact, I've been using Catalina for several hours now, and most everything works great... with the exception of Apple TV. Can't seem to get it to play my old iTunes video content. But I'll chalk that up to this being a beta. I'd read some complaints of Apple Music crashing. I haven't experienced that yet, and I've been playing through my library.

I would change to the release version when there is one and I notice. Apple Music is messed up in Catalina, so I would guess that some of the iTunes video content could be messed up also. So far my movies library works just fine, and my music library work fine, but apple music tells me I can not play this content in the United States...

Exactly I've just upgraded to Catalina, and Apple Music is off for me too, also there is some problem happened to me when I was trying to select some files they jumped around, like they are playing when ever I click on one the other file jumps to another place

Been playing around tonight, seems really stable for 1st public beta.
