ASUS X-299 Deluxe II - Thunderbolt Solution?

Status
Not open for further replies.
No idea why you guys opened this thread separate from the X299 main threads. The necessary modifications for the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe are also of interest for others. A simple post in one of the X299 main threads would have been helpful also for all others. I have seen the respective posts here with a delay of several days and weeks, because I even did not know that this thread exists at all. Ever heard about collaboration? My X299 threads are not only meant for taking but also for giving, even if one only returns feedback, remaining issues or some additional information.

You did not properly adopt SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml, no surprise that it fails to load during system boot and in consequence TB is not properly implemented at all on your system. Please try SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml attached below and report back with an IOREg.save and "PCI" snapshot of Apple's system report. It would be interesting to know if TB and USB-C HotPlug works with the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe II onboard TTR controller ones SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml is properly configured, like in case of the SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml attached below. Anyway, please note that you need to use SSDT-DTPG.aml in addition to make SSDT-X299-TB3HP.aml properly work on your system

Concerning the Aquantia 5GB NIC, did you ever try the trick with 10.13.2 and the Aquantia "built-in" patch by Mieze, fully described in Section in Sec tin E.8.2 of my X299 guidelines?

For any further support, please provide complete EFI-Folder, "PCI" snapshot and IOREG-Save for your system in the X299 main threads. Snapshot's of your BIOS settings would be helpful in addition.

We will also have to adopt the XHC USB Kext for the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe for it's use with the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe II.

I do not expect further necessary modifications. Else, the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe II should be fully compatible with all guidelines for the ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe.

I count on your collaboration and ask at the same time for your comprehension that I cannot provide help and support in threads different than the X299 main threads, which simply exceeds my personal capacities.

Good luck,

KGP
Thanks for your SSDT which enabled TB3 in ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe II MB at 10.14.3 beta.

Dear applemacosxGod,

I've the same setup as you (Board - Bios 0210 or 0404) , CPU - i9 9920X), but the GPU=Vega 64.

Bios configuration and EFI all from @kgp's guide. Only the "Above 4G ..." is ON (if's OFF the boot ist broken with the "d4" - error code). TSCAdjustReset.kext is my own.

But after boot come the same issue as @AsEvil.

Try with your EFI - same issue.

Thank you for your informative reply!

Same here. Above 4G must be on.

If you are using an AMD card, please use nvda_drv=0, NvidiaWeb uncheck.

Also remember to set your own SMBIOS info from config.plist.

I don't have USB-c device; so I cannot have a test. Good luck!

@applemacosxGOD Thanks for your Info.
Do you can share your actually EFI-Folder ? I've tested EFI_Will.zip with the same Kernel Panic as @Dolgarrenan. I'm desperate...

I plan to ask in the main thread of @kgp my question. With complete BIOS.jpg's and EFI Folder.

Thank you!

EFI_Will.zip which I provided is my actually EFI folder.

You just need to go to SMBIOS to generate new sn & smuuid.

As you can see above @jsl2000 also use my EFI folder and can run 10.14.3. not sure why you cannot.

intel i219v2 is working.
Did you manage to fix any of the problems you were having with the X299 Deluxe II? I plan on buying one soon, and im curious to know how its working for you.

Can someone here give me some updates on how the ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe II is working? Did you guys get TB hotswap working? Did you get 5G Lan working? Also, anyone try running 2X Nvidia GPUs and are they being detected? Thanks!

wow, very nice. thanks @LeleTuratti

i try to use SSDT-TB3 V2 and now seems TB3 is working lol.

Hi guys! i wanna ask to who have the Deluxe II if there is in the BIOS the Thunderbolt 3 section to configure it like in the kpg guide :) thanks

How did you get yours to actually boot into installation? I have the Asus Prime Deluxe II with 9820x and Radeon VII, Samsung 970 Pro and 970 Evo Plus and I'm always stuck with Apple logo with basic clover install or if I used yours, Panic kernel show up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you're asking about TSCAdjust, attached is one for 6 core. It's adjusted internally editing Info.plist inside the TSCAdjust file using PLIST Editor or Xcode to a value of 11: [(2 x 6core) - 1] = 11.

If you're asking about the CPxx-->PRxx, you need to refer to KGP's config.plist file (or one of the above plist files in this thread). There you need to edit ACPI section in Clover to edit the listing for 6 core (12 threads). See KGP's thread for more details. The image below shows a snippet of what needs to be edited (disabled).
