pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Once you have the VGTab created kext, just install it to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/.

By installing you mean just copy to the mounted EFI to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/?
Do I need to run anything like Clover?

For my Vega 56, I have Idle speed set to 900rpm. Target speed set to 3300rpm. Target temperature set to 55C.

I got those from your post here. Thanks again!

Yes. Just copy to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/. No need to run Clover or anything else.

Thanks very much! Worked like a charm!

First, Cinebench is a horrible app for testing GPU performance. Any high end GPU will probably be bottlenecked by CPU. I think that even the makers of Cinebench realized this and completely removed the GPU test in the latest version of Cinebench.

That being said, what are the system specs you are using your Vega on?

Also when running GPU benchmarks, it's a good idea to quit Safari. Having Safari open cause Unigine Heaven and Valley to be capped at 60fps for me.

ok i will test the gpu performance in heaven benchmark and report .
also safari is closed always .

my system specs is :
e5-2695 v3
Gigabyte GA-X99-Pheonix SLI
XFX Vega 56

SMBIOS - iMacPro1,1
XCPM loaded and confirmed

and does using AGPMInjector kext helps ?

Your CPU will severely bottleneck the GPU on the Cinebench GPU test. You need really high single core performance to get any respectable results from the Cinebench GPU test.

I have an 9700K, should I swap it to the 9900K, what do you think?

That really depends on you and what you will be using your system for... To be very honest, even the i7-8700K was more than I needed, I upgraded to i9-9900K out of want, not out of need.

Build update:

I'll be out of town for the next few days. Hopefully, by the time I return, Clover Configurator will be updated with the new iMac19,x system definition and we can transition to it. When transitioning to a new system definition, we should also generate new Serial, Board Serial, and UUID.

Those who are happy with the iMac18,x system definition are free to continue using it. It has worked great for us so far and I see no reason why it wouldn't continue to. However, the iMac19,x use the same CPUs we have been using and, in the future, iMac18,x support will probably end sooner than iMac19,x. Plus, 9th gen CPU users will no longer need to spoof 8th gen IGPU.

Lilu, AppleALC, and WhateverGreen were updated a few days ago but I didn't see anything that would affect this build so I will hold off on updating them until we update system definition.

Cheers! See ya in a few days...
