[SOLVED] Clover Update r4586 disables OS Boot (Black Screen)

Cat - Yet another post to express HUGE appreciation for all the effort and time spent writing out such a clear set of instructions for how to fix the mess I got into by idly updating clover - which like so many others I've done without any problem many times previously! In fact my previous experiences have all been that updating Clover solved rather than created problems!

One tiny quibble which I only mention because I know its hard for you brainy folks to truly grasp the depths of ignorance you're dealing with when it comes to folks like me . . . the instructions would be even more perfect if they made it a little clearer that you have to 'cd' then 'ls' then 'cd' then 'ls' repeatedly to work down through the directories until you find what you're after.

Also, I found that I didnt have to restart the machine once I'd got the two path directories written down, I could just type exit, return to the Clover start screen and then open the Shell again to begin the cp process.
Again I can't thank you enough - without your post I dare say I'd still be staring at as black screen doing pop-eyed goldfish impressions.

Saved my evening mate, thanks a lot

It worked for me on Mojave when I upgraded Clover.
Tks !!!

You saved my life thank you. I’m never updating clover again!!!

Just wanted to say I ran into the same exact issue. This thread was a HUUUUUUGE help. Thanks so much!

Can any one help me I followed this step by step and once I reboot I now get a kernel panic I have no idea what to do next and I can't seem to find my osx time machine so I can't even do that back up

Your post is off topic in this thread. You should start a new one of your own in Desktop Support.
That being said, your problem is caused by an out of date AppleALC.kext as evidenced by your screenshot :

ALC.png

Boot with -liluoff and update Lilu.kext and its associated plugin kexts (eg AppleALC.kext).

I can't get any of the available drives to mount once I'm in UEFI Shell. I get the below message for all my available options.

" 'fsx' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or script file."

Any thoughts
You have to type FSX: Then LS to view its contents.
