Before I take the plunge and buy these parts I'm hoping that someone can sense check my build.

GIGABYTE H370M D3H Socket 1151/H370/DDR4/S-ATA/uATX

Intel BX80684I38100 8th Gen Core i3-8100 Processor

Corsair CP-9020097-UK VS Series ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Power Supply Unit, 550 W

Crucial CT2K4G4DFS824A 8 GB Kit (4 GB x 2) (DDR4, 2400 MT/s, PC4-19200, SR x8, DIMM, 288-Pin) Memory

Kingston SA400S37/240G SSD A400 240 GB Solid State Drive (2.5 Inch SATA 3)

Zotac Nvidea 6gb GTX 1060

You should be able to install high Sierra on this hardware by following the main installation guide. Use a USB 2 drive in a USB 2 socket as USB 3 is often hit or miss for installation. :thumbup:

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll go ahead and buy the parts . Let’s see how I get on.
 
How did you do on this build? I was not able to get graphics to accelerate even with 10.13.6 Negatively supporting the graphics internally.

If you want to use integrated gfx exclusively, install the latest 10.14.2 version of macOS and use the Mac Mini 8,1 system definition.
 
Followed the guide here to a T with MacMini 8,1 and machine crashes during install after booting back up from USB to the internal drive.
