Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum/hackintosh and decided to give it a go:

CPU Intel i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4 GHZ
RAM Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DIMM DDR3-1333
MB MEDIONPC MS-7728
SSD Samsung SSD 250 GB
HD ST1500DL003-9VT16L
GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti

An older desktop, and the bios states American Megatrends Inc. I followed this installation guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...sierra-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.235474

After creating the USB and loading the optimalized bios settings I have troubles finding any of the BIOS-settings. If skip these settings and try to boot the usb it keeps bringing me back to the windows recovery menu (older version, different version (only gives me windows 10 option) and some other stuff). I'm hoping someone can help me out getting started! I followed the guide without any errors until the bios part (it is a legacy bios). Added are some images of the BIOS menu. It states UEFI USB when I start up the bootmenu, is this correct?

Appreciate any help!

EDIT: I updated my bios to the latest version.

If it is a legacy BIOS then you must use a Unibeast legacy installer, not UEFI. You'd need to remake that USB installer.
Which BIOS version are you on ? It looks like you may have updated the BIOS to UEFI. Post the exact BIOS version you are on here.

I did create it (read: followed the guide) by selecting legacy. It also gives me the option to boot the USB without stating UEFI in front of it, however when I select that I get the following menu and "continuing" instantly brings me back to the same menu.

My Bios version is:
American Megatrends Inc. E7728MLN.209, 22-12-2011 (Hm, maybe it didnt update correctly)

Post a link to the page where you downloaded the BIOS from.

I highly doubt that they spent the money to make UEFI an option for that H61 motherboard back in 2012. It also doesn't say anything about UEFI in the description. So I would assume legacy. Go back and re-create your Unibeast installer for legacy booting and try it again. Boot it legacy and try some boot flags to reach the installer. I've never seen anyone use that specific motherboard here so I have no idea if it will work.

Note that you may also need a newer graphics card than your 550 Ti to run High Sierra on this system. You could buy a low cost GT 710 and try that. Another option would be to use an older version of macOS like El Capitan that you graphics card would work with.

Thanks for the help!

I'll give it a shot and otherwise it's simply time to upgrade. Or maybe thats a better option anyways lol

If you want to keep using your i7-2600 and ram, purchase an HP 8200 Elite barebones, refurbished PC and install them in that. Works well with High Sierra. See my signature for the guide on that.

The Lynnfield build in my signature is also a MedionPC with a legacy BIOS.

If your system will not boot from the Legacy USB Installer created according to the UniBeast: Install macOS High Sierra on Any Supported Intel-based PC guide try to create the USB Installer according to this [Guide] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover

For the USB partitioning use:
Option 1: MBR with a FAT32 partition for Clover and a separate HFS+J partition for the OS X installer.

Decided it was time to upgrade and went for the august customac builds. Appreciate the help guys!
