Hi all,

I am trying to install High Sierra and I'm receiving a stop sign. I tried a few things (-x -f) that were suggested in other threads with no success, always the stop sign. I am using UniBeast 8.3.2

I did took an image by adding the -v, see attached:

My hardware is the following:

MSI H270M MORTAR ARCTIC SDRAM Motherboards
Intel BX80677I77700 7th Generation Core i7-7700 Processor
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz C16 (PC4 21300) Memory Kit – White (CMK16GX4M2A2666C16W)
ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Dual-Fan OC Edition Graphics Card (DUAL-GTX1060-O3G)
Seagate Firecuda 2TB 3.5-Inch SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache Internal Hard Drive (ST2000DX002)
TP-Link Archer T9E AC1900 Dual Band Wireless PCI Express Adapter, 5Ghz 1300Mbps Plus 2.4Ghz 600Mbps, Beamforming, 3T3R

Installing MacOS on a PC is a first to me so, I would please ask that you give me some details in your recommendations if I need to tweak things.

Regards,

Stop vs Prohib.png

It is not a stop sign - It is what Apple refer to as the prohibitory symbol.

Please read and comply with the rules, in particular the one regarding profiles.

The cause of your problem is most likely the use of the wrong OsxAptioFixDrv.
Things have changed recently on that front and the new preferred option is AptioMemoryFix.efi.

Thanks for the precision on the sign!
I just updated my profile.
I'll be researching these recommendations you gave me, I have no clue what these things are.

Hi,

Can I please how to use the “AptioMemoryFix.efi“. I see thread that refer to it but no luck in finding how to use it!

Regards,

Hi P1LGRIM,

I have no traction on my question, should I open-up a new thread?

Regards,

ok, thanks.

Not crystal clear in my head how to do this but will work on it.

How I see this:

  • Recreate a new USB based on High Sierra (since I am not seeing the EFI partition when I plug back the USB key in my Mac)
  • Locate the .efi files referred in the previous link you just provided and copy in the appropriate directory
    • Are these available on this site?
  • This next step will require some digging: "Includes CustoMac default config.plist for UEFI-based systems."
    • Never done that yet, I've always simply created a USB boot drive using the UniBeast app and booted the PC directly after creation.
Boot the PC and cross my fingers ;)

I appreciate some more hints if your time permit.

No need to recreate - The EFI partition does not show until it is mounted - See EFI Mounter.[/QUOTE]

Update:

Ignore my last post:

Somehow, I downloaded r4411 instead of 4586 (my bad again, I was browsing the the download section I guess).

Will try with the right one right away and update after.

-----
My bad, I just notice the Download in the upper right corner for the .efi

So, too late, I already re-created the USB.

If I understand correctly:

  • Create the USB with UniBeast
  • Launch the Clover_v2.4k_r4411-UEFI, select my USB EFI as the destination?
    • This copy's the files automatically
  • Unmount the USB key and boot the PC
If these are the steps are correct, I still receive the prohibitory symbol.

Photo of the error attached:
