Thanks for the feedback guys. Would either of you show me your config.plist? I have dual gpu in operation. I tried both 0x59120000 and 0x59120003 with no changes in iTunes. I have the correct files installed (lilu, shiki etc.) but no luck so far.

So I have installed Shiki in the EFI mount. However I am a little confused. Do I need to specify a VDA Decoder or will it automatically figure it out? Also I have a discrete cpu and my intel cpu does have internal graphics enabled. If I need to force a decoder which one do I want to force it to use? I seem to be able to play certain iTunes movie trailers, is there a way to tell if it does in fact have a DRM on it?
I ran the video decoder checker and got this output :
2018-07-02 14:18:46.087597-0700 VDADecoderChecker[1078:15367] GVA error: Failed to find IGPU IOService plane.

Hardware acceleration is fully supported

Program ended with exit code: 0

I know I haven't posted in a while, I have got DRM decoding working on my system that is running 14,2 iMac as as its identifier
on MacOS 10.13.5. I installed most recent editions of the lilu.kext, nvidiagraphicsfixup.kext and Shiki.kext all installed in the other section of your EFI partition, ran the rebuild .kext command
Code:
sudo kextcache -i /
in terminal and restarted. All three kexts MUST be installed to get everything working! I only have one graphics output from my Nvidia GTX Titan. The internal Intel 4000 has been completely disabled.

If even after doing the above doesn't work, you'll have try the reset

Code:
sudo defaults delete com.apple.AppleGVA
sudo defaults delete com.apple.coremedia
sudo rm -rf /Users/Shared/SC\ Info

then reboot...

DRM video should be working after this.
Would this work for integrated cpu graphics? Netflix doesn’t play on safari and that bothers me a bit, for what I have read shiki doesn’t like hd4600 so I guess I’m out of luck. Will try it when I get home later today anyways.

Hello everyone, I've tried almost everything I believe but looks like I can't get any kind of movies to play downloaded or streaming on iTunes. Music videos work good on Apple Music but I don't know if its HD or not especially since I have a 4K display it doesn't look the best. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Two steps forward, 3 steps back.

Back to black screens on all HDCP movies using my Nvidia 1080ti. I didn't change anything in my system, didn't update, just turned it off for a few weeks.

Launched iTunes yesterday and can't play or stream any protected video content. Music is fine of course.
I'm stumped, I have no idea what changed. I even restored my system to a working backup...didn't fix.

Tried the usual solutions, update Lilu, Nvidia, Shiki (now merged into one Whatevergreen kext)...didn't fix. It seems this is totally hit-or-miss.

UPDATE:
I was able to pull an earlier backup from Time Machine and successfully restored HDCP playback for downloaded content (not streaming though, that has never worked-- just get black screens).

I think I've narrowed my previous problems to iTunes updates.

Version 12.74.6 works. If I update, I'm back to black screens for all content. Even if I reset the decoder and update to the latest kexts.

Kept tinkering and was able to turn on my internal HD graphics along with my Nvidia 1080ti. The new Whatevergreen combo kext has overcome the black screen issue I was getting the last time I tried this. The hardware acceleration improved Final Cut X rendering performance by quite a bit. Render times for 4K and HEVC files were cut by 30-40%.

The last obstacle was iTunes. It kept crashing every time I would play downloaded movies. I deleted the library and created a new one which solved the issue (fingers crossed).

Streaming movies play but the video is scrambled/distorted. But once downloaded, they work. Also, Safari doesn't work with Netflix (HDCP error) but Chrome does.

I've had various hacks working with Shiki / WhateverGreen with Nvidia and intel graphics. Since iTunes 12.8, however, the best I can do is get about 2 seconds of playback before the screen blacks and the HDCP warning appears.

Netflix also busted in safari but fine in Chrome.

I have absolutely no luck with my HD4600 and iTunes/Safari. But this works surprisingly well for 1080p in Chrome.
