pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I'm looking for the script to enable Carbon Copy Cloner to copy a time machine back-up. I thought that I saw it related to your build but I am missing it. Do you have any knowledge of this and or a link?

Yes. Please see post #1, update #3.

Sadly, with this method, CCC still will not copy the time machine backup from the backup disk. In addition, four of the six disks disconnect with that scary warning about removing the disks with ejecting first. This also happens with SuperDuper! although SD begins to copy TM backup but then stops.

You are trying to clone your Time Machine?? I've never tried to clone my Time Machine before, but can't you just copy the entire folder like how you would copy any other folder?

I don't think his script was ever intended to aid in the cloning of Time Machine, just the EFI partition.

You can post on his thread why his script doesn't clone Time Machine.

Alternatively, you can try using dd in Terminal or Clonezilla in Linux.

"dd in terminal"? Yes to simply copying, many times with the same result, disconnecting drives and failure to copy the time machine. sheeesh!

Here are some basic instructions on how to use dd. But, be warned, it can be a bit slow.

Are the drives that are disconnecting internal SATA drives? External USB? Are the USB drives powered?

This Z370 build of mine has an internal 3.5" drive being used for Time Machine. My laptop uses my NAS for Time Machine over 802.11ac. Neither has any problems.

Thanks! After four tries to copy the Time Machine back-up from the RAID 0 set (two disks) it finally took with a simple "copy and Paste" overnight. :) I'm trying to reduce the number of SATA internal drives and retire some of these older disks in my build, moving to 8 and 10tb drives. Will eventually place the older, smaller drives in an external enclosure.
