Hi,

I have a macbook running yosemite OS but the Audio chip is not recognised, hence, the audio control isn't working. I have attempted Clover and Voodoo but these didn't work also, is there an audio driver that works well with yosemite, say a .dmg file.

I would appreciate contribution from those running this OS with Intel High Definition Audio chip and have their audio device working.

Thanks.

I understand that MacBook is pre-installed with Snow Leopard from Apple, but this has Yosemite running on it. Its Intel based MacBook.

If your MacBook is supported by Yosemite, you should install as per Apple guidelines (audio should be natively supported).
You should check whether Apple supports Yosemite on your hardware.

The PC is Apple MacBook late 2009 but with Intel chips. The audio option of the hardware section in the "system information" indicates Intel High Definition Audio but with no driver details. Could there be a way to check whether the internal sound card is physically present without having to disassemble?

Thanks for the support so far.

I don't know what you mean by "with Intel chips" (all modern Apple laptops use Intel CPUs and other components).
You should do a fresh install.

You should NOT be using Clover and VoodooHDA on your Apple laptop.
This site is for non-Apple hardware only.

I perceive the internal sound card is either dysfunctional or the Yosemite has no driver support for it, which is doubtful. In the meantime, I got an USB sound card for it and that works fine. Later, I would install the default OS, which is Snow Leopard to check whether that would do the magic...lol!!!
