Anyone fix the shutdown? Mine just hangs at shutdown sometimes.

Any chance that high Sierra would work too? I upgraded my c2d e8400, ep45 ds3r from lion to Sierra wotw this guide. Works well...

Im sure it will. I don't use this system much anymore but over the next couple fo week sI'll try to upgrade it to High Sierra.

Hi Boead,

I tried my Luck today and installed 10.13.4 with the new unibeast options legacy and old Nvidia drivers. The Installation ran through, but I didn't get to the login screen of 10.13.4. I guess I need to tweak the kexts somehow...

Check system definition with compatible systems on Apple site for Sierra. You may need to change your system definition.

Thank you for the help going bald.

I'll check the smbios definition next time, I am at my parents home (the old right stayed behind :)

From my gut feeling the smbios definition is checked early in the boot process, I get to the point, where the OS is mounting other partitions and the next step reboots the machine, I wasn't fast enough to get what is causing the reboot.

I think the difference between Sierra and high Sierra is not so big (aside from APFS)

Maybe you can try this. I suspect it's a similar board

Hi Suzukikm,

Thx for the tip, sadly I didn't get to the login screen, no chance installing multibeast. Guess the installation got disturbed, I'll perform a clean install from a freshly generated usb stick.

Edit:
New Bootstick with a freshly downloaded 10.13.4, unibeast 8.3.2 and Nvidia graphics injection for my old GeForce 9800 gtx ist ready. Will Report back as soon as I have new data.

@Boead - I have a Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L (BIOS F10f) with a Xeon E5450 (Socket 771 version of your Q9650 with a 771->775 conversion). With Clover v4439, I need to select PluginType=1 for SpeedStep to work. I was also able to get SpeedStep working by installing NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, but I'd rather have a "vanilla" installation with Clover.
