Same immediate kernel panic but drop tables like MATS and DMAR don't work

In my case, problem seems to be caused by Clover built in XCPM patches conflict with OS installer.

If Clover version >r413x, all my Celeron and Pentium CPUs (Haswell/SKY/KBL) have same issue when I try to fresh install High Sierra but can run High Sierra properly after install success. Now stay at Clover r4128, very stable for fresh install and system update, from High Sierra PB4 to 17A365.

Wow! Thanks for your reply.

I will try downgrade the Clover.

But my question is according to the installation guide, isn't it required to update the Clover to v4173+?

No luck...

I tried to downgrade the clover but I even cannot do a install since it told me "An error occured while verifying firmware". I think downgrading the clover is the probably the reason.

I got the same exact issue on my Dell 9010. I notice my keyboard and mouse died during the installation =[.

What is your Clover version? I guess u may try to update the Clover to solve the problem.

I stay at Clover r4128, firmware issue is another problem during installation, use latest Clover Configurator create a new config.plist with FF, FFM, Platform Feature for fresh install, after installation then restore original config.plist back.

Hey I just want to report back to let you know I am running High Sierra right now. Only the following changed since the last attempt:
  1. Changed my Dell Nvidia GT 640 to a Dell AMD RX 560
  2. Installed two kext (WhateverGreen and lilu) in other folder on EFI. I needed this to use the RX 560 otherwise I get a blank blackscreen.
  3. Installed APFS.efi in the Drivers64UFEI folder. So I can read the new APFS drive mount otherwise clover can't see the drives.
And that was it I didn't mess around with changing anything in clover, i still have my nvidia inject on for my nvidia card.

Late to the party: drop Mats dit it to at least be able to start High Sierra install. Dell 9020 here...

**Had to also add FixHeaders

Hello, I have the same problem as described in this thread as well as in Kernel Panic on High Sierra Installation. I have tried

1. changing in Clover configurator in the ACPI / Drop Tables the option from "DMAR" to "MATS";
2. both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports;
3. 'safe' boot mode for the installation and the absence of this option (standard mode).

I am attaching my zipped EFI folder and outputs of the installation boot process (safe and standard modes) to the console. My profile should provide information needed about my build.

Some additional context, not sure that it's relevant--
My machine was previously running okay, ie I had a working OS X installation. I was never able to use it for any prolonged period, as it would reset under some standard loads (using Apple Pages, or when mdutil was running). I was using a Streacom DB4 passive thermal dissipation chassis to that point but was never able to run through Geekbench once. (It would reset every time.) Using a CPU monitor, I am pretty sure that the passive thermal management wasn't enough, as the CPU package termperature would quickly rise to >80 degrees Celsius. I had changed the EFI folders during this time, in search of a culprit and in the process was never able to reboot back into OS X since.

I knew the risks of playing with the EFI folder and was ready to reinstall the OS. Concurrently, I installed an active liquid cooler, Corsair Liquid CPU Cooler H60. But having installed this, I can't boot the installation USB anymore-- because of the kernel panics described in this and related threads.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Correct fix is:
config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/FixHeaders=true
