(SOLVED) SSDT-MCHC.aml as well as SSDT-SMBUS.aml - Uncertainty

The two hacks as per my signature work really well in all respects.

Presently I am optimizing and simplifying the configuration of the 2 hacks and discovered that my machines run equally well without SSDT-MCHC.aml and SSDT-SMBUS.aml being present in /Clover/.../patched.

Originally I obtained these SSDTs from the @VioletDragon GitHub repository for 9 series as well as 100 series mobos.

They found their way into the /Clover/.../patched folder of my hacks during the troubleshooting phase without me investigating properly what their real purpose are.

I would appreciate if somebody could shed some light for me on this topic and in particular what these 2 SSDT's are meant to fix or patch in the environments as per my signature.

No response yet, not even from the maintainer of the repositories serving as the main distribution source for these SSDT's.

Makes me wonder.

VioletDragon has left the hackintosh scene and moved on to Linux.

My understanding is that MCHC and SMBus are not used on 100-series and newer chipsets. However, having them present also poses no harm. I don't know if 9-series relies on them or not.

I can confirm that MCHC and SMBus are indeed not required in my 9 and 100 series environment using the mobos as per my signature. I removed both of them about 2 days ago with my hacks still working like real iMacks in all respects.

I like to keep my configurations "lean and mean" and hate having to drag along "non paying passengers"

I will mark this thread as "Solved"
