[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Status
Not open for further replies.
My laptop has integrated unsupported nvidia gpu.
I had to disable it in BIOS so that the installer could work.

This is covered in the guide via this link:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-only-ran-for-0-seconds-with-dual-gpu.233092/

Now I can boot with kexts and other files including config.plist derived from installer flash drive.
I trying to use G4 config config_4x0s_G4_Kabylake.plist . (Final config.plist section this guide)
The only change is:
ig-platform-id=0x59160000

I get following message on boot:
Code:
IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

Can you point me to right direction? It is my first experience with laptop.
Finally I would like to enable nvidia gpu for dual win 10 installation.

Thank you so much for your work!

Keep in mind you cannot use the final config.plist without also installing ACPI files (with install_acpi.sh).
And you must have the kexts installed with download.sh/install_downloads.sh.

Does anybody success with HP ProBook 450 G5?
Managed to install 10.13.3 and have it actually up and running right in front of me. Audio and battery status are not working yet, basically it should be possible. I simply don't have the nerve for the patching mess and use Apogee for the Sound anyways. The BIOS allows several video memory settings so it saves you from the whole graphics mashup. It just works, great, no patches whatsoever!

I's actually a very nice working horse, decent display, illuminated keyboard and a fast NVMe that also works with hackintosh out of the box. So, yes!

PS: My model just has the Intel graphics HD620...

Of course everything was done as described.

Oh good! Can you provide me your clover config? And which guide you used for prepare installer and postconfiguration?

Hello! As I said earlier, I bought a HP ProBook 450 G5.

Following your instructions I was able to install it.

Your ACPI/patched content is wrong. Use install_acpi.sh as per guide.
Also, the config.plist used for installation is different from the one used for "final".
You should not mix "final" ACPI/patched with pre-install config.plist.

Of course everything was done as described.

The files you provided prove otherwise.

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/
Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

Your config.plist is not correct. At the stage you're at, you should be using the same config.plist as your USB EFI/Clover.
EFI/Clover/kexts is also not correct.
See guide for correct initial EFI/Clover setup:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Thanks Rehabman

All fine. After some updates in app store Better
Some advice Before post install copy config.plist, 64 efi drivers, kexts from usb clover to hdd clover

Clover countdown autolaunch doesn't work
hdd config.plist doesn't have boot attribute DefaultVolume
copy it from usb clover config.plist and put your boot volume name in
<key>DefaultVolume</key>
<string>your boot volume name</string>
adjust boot time
<key>Timeout</key>
<integer>5</integer>

Other than that though I can see it in terminal with diskutil list there's no hdd recovery partition now in hdd clover like in the usb clover

Great install
Thanks

Clover countdown autolaunch doesn't work

SysPrefs->Startup Disk

Other than that though I can see it in terminal with diskutil list there's no hdd recovery partition now in hdd clover like in the usb clover

Recovery is hidden with config.plist options. Press F3.

Sorry, I installed Windows today and wiped everything. But it was just a basic file I found here in a discussion about the HD620. Since your model has another graphics I'm not sure if it will work as well as here. You will really need patches to deactivate it.

Start with the false ig-platform-id 0x12345678 to install, rebuild the cache, deactivate all the graphics patches and it should work out of the box. That's what I did and it was quite usable but I lost the patience when looking into the patches. I currently simply don't have time for that.
