Did you patch that driver? If so, how? I have build 378.05.05.25f04 and replacing the build number in the plist did nothing.

OS X El Capitan and system iMac 14.2

press spacebar on the boot volume in clover, then select the option to disable a kext. then when you have booten up, open clover, mount efi partition and replace lilu with the new version: https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu

Hello, how do you do this? I've DL-ed the zip file but have no idea what to do with it. Thanks in advance for the help and patience.

when you boot your machine you get the clover menu to select your boot volume. Press the spacebar on the boot volume and then you get to see something like this: https://9to5mac.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/clover-verbose-and-use-nvidia.jpg
You may see an option to boot without a specific kext, or to disable a certain kext..Can't find a screenshot of that. Then you disable lilu.kext and boot the machine. If you get to the desktop, you open the Clover Configurator application, and mount your EFI partition on your boot drive (you must have done this once already when installing your hackintosh). Then your EFI partition appears on the desktop. Then you open that in the finder, find the CLOVER/kexts/other directory, and replace the Lilu.kext (only the kext file) with the newer version. Then reboot.

Thanks for the quick reply. Managed to boot Sierra using -liluoff :)
I DL-ed the zip file from https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu but I don't see any lilu.kext files inside the "lilu-master" folder from the site :(
Totally lost, what am I missing? Again thanks for the help and my apologies for the noobness.

Thank you so much, really appreciate it. Managed to update lilu using the file (using kextbeast to install lilu.kext worked for me).
I can now boot sierra without -liluoff and without the kernel panic ---> will have to wait for the NVIDIA drivers though to enable my GPU again. But nonetheless, thank you. If ever you're in Singapore PM me and I'll take you out for drinks. Cheers!

Thank you all for your hints and instructions to get the system up and running again!

I also had these kernel panics after installing the 2018-001 security update on Sierra (10.12.6). Thanks to this thread I was able to get the system back on its feet by upgrading Lilu to the new version that has been mentioned already (1.2.1). My system was on version 1.1.4 of Lilu before.

Somehow I was not able to disable Lilu from within Clover; I guess I have to study it more. What I did was to boot into single user mode (by adding "-s" to the boot options), then I manually mounted my USB flash drive with the latest Lilu.kext on it, mounted my system SSD read/write and replaced /Library/Extensions/Lilo.kext with that latest version.

Once I did that the system booted up without a kernel panic but ended up showing me a black screen. So after another forced shutdown (by the way, how do I properly (!) shut down or reboot the system without seeing what I am doing?) I disabled "Inject Intel" in Clover (I am running an i5-6500 with Intel graphics only). After that, the system booted up normally. Phew!

So, to sum up, the following worked for me:

- replace Lilu.kext with the latest version
- disable "Inject Intel" in Clover (at least for my Intel GPU)

Now I will update Clover and its configuration to disable "Inject Intel" permanently...

Damn, this totally hosed me, thought it was a minor update. Famous last words.

Can't even remember why installed Lilu at this point. I'm on 10.12.6 + this update, considering just rolling back until there's more input. I can only boot safe mode, and in safe mode, can only login remotely with screen sharing, black screen otherwise. Hardware as shown in profile, anyone have same?

Lilu is gone, still panics. Intel fixup removed, still panics. Not sure what else to remove.

edit: finally was able to catch the panic as it happened, something about ALC kext with some 9966 number or similar in front, I guess I'll find/disable that. I need to start documenting my hacks when I build them.
