pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Thank you for the immediate reply.

I did as you asked, but clicked on the ALC1220 instead of the ALC1220A as I have a Maximus Hero X.

Not sure if this was a smart move, as although the system now detects audio (it even detects that I plug in the headsets on the front connector) there is no sound coming out. Not over the front io, either the back.

Just like before over display port.

Any suggestions?

Thank you again for all your precious help

Make sure you are selecting the correct output device in the Sound System Preferences. The names are deceptive. Try them all.

Yes, I tried them all before. plugging in the headphone jack to the several connectors and changing the output device but nothing works.

also, whenever I choose Internal speakers, any of the other two line outs, or the digital out, I cant playback a youtube video, or a quicktime video.

Only when I select the audio over display port.

You can do this by editing your config.plist.

I assume you are talking about what shows up in "About This Mac". Yes, you can change it. It's just a cosmetic thing that I've never personally looked in to. No, MultiBeast has no provision for changing this.

Correct. Irrelevant for users of AMD and/or Intel UHD 630 graphics.

If you want all your ports to remain active, just continue to use the KextsToPatch patch. Don't use the SSDT-USB.aml. It's your choice which you want to use but as stated in the first post, using the SSDT-USB.aml is advised.

If you've done everything in the first post and everything is working properly, there isn't much left to do other than to use the computer.

I can't wait to use it and throw some rendering at it. The automatic boot didn't work because your config had Macintosh HD in it, whereas my drive was called Untitled. Changed my drive name to Macintosh HD and now it works fine :)

So far everything is great and working, only thing is no Audio after Sleep. I used the "RehabMan-CodecCommander-2017-0501.zip" or which one worked for you? I even checked the library and the extension was there, not sure why its still not working...

Edit: The Corsair AIO really disappointed me. Weird noise and very loud in idle.

If you are still losing audio after sleep, go to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ and remove AppleALC.kext. Then follow instructions here to use MultiBeast to install audio drivers and CodecCommander.

Not sure why you are having these audio issues... Try the method here: Sierra Desktop/Realtek AppleHDA Audio | tonymacx86.com

For those who are interested. We can now restore native NVRAM support. Directions are in the first post here in the Updates #1 section.

Are you experiencing any problems with iMessage using OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi, removing: EmuVariableUefi-64.efi?
Also, can you please share the source, where you read about OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi? I cannot find az up-to-date release notes page for Clover EFI... Thank you very much! :)

I haven't experienced any issues with iMessage. As a matter of fact, even answering phone calls from my iPhone on my hack is working.

I first discovered OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi while experimenting with an AQC107 10GBase-T card for High Sierra compatibility. This led me to updating Clover and I read the changes here: Repository: code

Then, I dug a bit deeper and found this discussion: AptioMemoryFix - UEFI - InsanelyMac Forum

As always, update at your own risk and be sure to make a backup of your working EFI folder.
