Finally USPS decided to deliver my final package, the GPU :)

For some reason though when I get to the installer screen I am only presented to install into the USB and I do not see my SSD drive. Will try the other power slots later today but wondering if anyone else has seen that before...

Anyways, super pumped to get working on this tonight!

great !!!!:D
I upgraded to high sierra, and everything works the only problem was' at the beginning, 'cause I did not understand what I had to put in the folder (efi / clover / kext / other) once inserted fakeSMC kext the update and' started and I did not do anything else (I hope I did well) and for now I do not see any problem, the two USB WI-FI and Bluethoot adapters also work.
fantastic !!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm running Sierra (10.12.6).
I installed the VoodooHDA pref pane, and then put the volume up for "Digital Out (HDMI) and it is now working again.
I'm not sure why it never needed this before, so a little frustrated I don't understand what has changed, but at least I have sound back :)

can you open disk utility to see if your SSD is there? if yes, you need to partition it:

  1. To partition the Disk for macOS. Now click on Utilities > Disk Utility.
  2. Now select your SSD and click on Erase tab.
  3. Name the disk then choose the format to “OS X Extended (Journaled) “ , be sure to select the Schema to “GUID Partition Map” and click on Erase button.

Goodmorning everyone
I'm very happy for the success of the installation.
now I would like to understand (even for a future) how to copy everything hard disk on a ssd, and better cc ccloner or super duper? once I have cloned I have to reinstall the boot?
but only the boot or even the kext?
thank you

I personally prefer CCC. after cloning to my back up drive (in your case perhaps your SSD), I would mount the EFI drives (both source and destination) and then copy the EFI folder to the EFI drive of the destination. then you can just swap the drives.

yeah I wasn't seeing it show at all but actually figured it out, I had to change SATA Device Mode to AHCI. After that smooth sailing.

Only issue that I haven't looked into yet cause it was 4am at this point, was no sound through hdmi - only through the little usb dongle I purchased

EDIT: I am noticing a lower geekbench score than most (around 10k) - what could be the reason for that?

How do I set up automatic boot?

mount EFI, go under Boot and look for the field Default Boot Volume. enter the start up disk name there. as long as it matches, it will auto boot without you having to hit enter.

now if you don't want to have the 3 second wait, you can also change the value under timeout from 3 to 0.

congratulations!

Great !!!!
at this point I would like to ask, it is possible to give the boot apple the right size, because now it is a bit crushed
