I want to upgrade my Hackintosh from Mavericks to Sierra 10.12.6, changing the boot loader from Chameleon to Clover in the process. I'm trying to find out in advance if my combination of motherboard, Clover, and multiple drives (described below) will cause the multiple boot entry problem discussed at length in another thread on this site: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...boot-entries-prevent-further-problems.175274/

For context, I do have the multiple boot entry problem on a second Hackintosh with a GA-170X-UD5 motherboard, single boot, using Clover as the boot loader. I believe my problem is with the combination of a Gigabyte Skylake motherboard with a Bios below F20 and UEFI Clover. My solution will be to flash the Bios to F20.

The hackintosh that I am asking about is a Ivy Bridge series, dual boot macOS and Windows 7. Each operating systems is on a separate SSD and each has a backup SSD. Data for each is on a separate rotational drive and there is a separate rotational backup drive for each of those.

So my question is will I have the problem of multiple boot entries on my Ivy Bridge system once I upgrade to Sierra and Clover?

Thank you very much, Jim

Do you have UEFI booting enabled and CSM disabled on your Ivy Bridge build? With a Win7 drive I would think not as it is probably installed Legacy Mode and using Chameleon to boot Mac OS also indicated Legacy mode booting.

Suggest you test drive Clover and see what it looks like. See https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/test-drive-how-to-create-a-clover-usb.127134/

You will probably want to hide the non-boot drives with entries in the Clover config.plist. Forum search is your friend.

My drives are UEFI in Boot Option Priorities. CSM Support is set to Always. This system was built using UniBeast and Multibeast, following information from this site.

I look forward to your response--thank you.

Run msinfo32.exe and verify Win7 was installed UEFI mode.

I ran misinfo32.exe. I could not find the BIOS mode. A Google search led me to using Panther. I followed this path:
C:\Windows\Panther\Setupact and found the following entry:

IBS Callback_BootEnvironmentDetect: Detected boot environment: BIOS

I read this as confirming, as you thought, that Windows7 is booting in legacy mode. I don't know how what this means given my settings in Boot Option Priorities and CSM Support or how this relates to my original question. Any clarification would be helpful.

post pic of screen result of running msinfo32.exe (on a Windows KB, click on popup window to select it, hold alt+print screen key, paste in post like text or paste in wordpad, save as a .txt file and upload.

Below is the content of first page from running msinfo32.exe--System Summary . There was also a large amount of information about categories within System Summary: Hardware Resources, Components, and Software Environment. I didn't know what you wanted to see beyond the System Summary and I didn't know the technique/format to use to copy and furnish all of the information. Hopefully I am forwarding what you asked for.
