Hi Everyone,

I am having trouble with locating the error and why WOL isn't working anymore since updating to High Sierra 10.13.1.
My build has been perfectly with WOL since Yosemite to High Sierra even, but the first point update to High Sierra has broken this functionality.

I don't believe the fault is in the ethernet drivers, since i believe it has to do with the Hackintosh shutting down completely and in the process also shutting down the ethernet card thus killing possibility of WOL. Nonetheless i have still tried with
AppleIntelE1000e & IntelMausiEthernet, with no difference in results.

Wake On Lan works when booting and shutting down from my Windows Partition, making me further believe it is something in the shutdown process of the High Sierra that breaks WOL.

Is anybody else having the same problems, and if so, what solution could work?

FIXED: The solution was apparently to put the network Kexts in L/E instead of in the Kext folder in the EFI partition. Don't know why this makes a difference, but that is the only change i've done to get it to work.

Alternatively, I put the network Kexts in the 10.13 folder in the clover EFI partition and it appears to have solved the same problem.

Edit: If I sleep and then wake again fairly soon afterwards, things still work. But if I sleep and wait a bit, ethernet does not work. Using appleethernet1000e v 3.3.6 on High Sierra.

SOLVED EDIT: I removed AppleEthernet100e.kext from /Library/Extensions and /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other & 10.13. I manually installed IntelMausiEthernet.kext in /Library/Extensions (and used terminal to refresh the kexts) and /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other & 10.13.

From looking around, it appears that AppleEthernet1000e appeared to be working fine for a lot of us until 10.12 or 10.13, but IntelMausiEthernet seems to handle High Sierra better.

Hey,

i'm trying to get wake on lan working on my hackintosh, but i am only able to wake him after a shut down from windows.
waking my hackintosh running 10.12.6 while it's sleeping is no problem.
can one of you or somebody else tell me how to get wake on lan working? what kexts did you usw for sierra?

I am having same problem with latest High Sierra (not waking on lan from sleep).
However I am not using LAN, instead i am using Apple Wifi/BT Combo card.
When using latest Sierra it works fine :(

Unfortunately, i can't help you, but would like to know if you have been able to wake your mac after sleep or a complete shutdown. i can wake my hackintosh from sleeping (under sierra) but not when it's completely shutdown

Is it even supposed to be waken from shutdown on lan?

Yes, you can wake a Windows PC which is completely shutdown.

by sending a magic packet from a remote device like a mobile phone. For every OS there should be apps you can use. Just search for "WOL" or "wake on lan" in an appstore
